  5. Had some good chat's with this dude at my school last week... His 4th album coming out soon is gonna be sweet.
  6. MW3 singleplayer was way dull compared to 2, and the multiplayer community is just retarded, really glad I traded it in for Max Payne 3, which I'm still currently enjoying the shit out of...
  7. Had some of this yesterday: Shipyard Brewing Co. Smashed Pumpkin I was a little skeptical of a pumpkin beer at first, as I'd never had one, but I sampled some on the job last night and then bought some. It was pretty delicious, there's a slight hint of nutmeg and other spices in with the pumpkin that make it taste like pumpkin pie in a beer form. Also, for a 9% beer it doesn't feel heavy at all and drinks suprisingly light. Definitely a good fall beer.

Surripere makes an excellent soundtrack for people watching on the bus, while riding through downtown. I love this album.

    Now Reading

Im currently reading through House Of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski for a second time, also paging through the Batman: Death In The Family story-arch, and just this Friday I picked up a copy of David Byrne's, How Music Works after I went to the interview/discussion event that I plan to start reading through. It's like a brief history and analysis of recording technologies and the way technology has impacted music over the years and rare music history type stories he's pieced together through extensive research. (The discussion/interview was really fucking interesting) plus I got my copy signed!!
  13. Now they opened a bottle of wine... That better be some cheap shit, cause if it's one of the two bottles a friend brought me from Rome, I swear to god...
  14. Exactly man... That little bit of time on the weekends where I can just fuck off and do nothing is SO important to me... we have a small 1BR as well, so unless I hide away in the bedroom (which there isn't much to do in) I'm stuck around everyone. I'm probably gonna be grumpy as fuck tomorrow. Especially if they wake up to pack and leave before I have to wake up and get ready school (and they will), they're kinda loud in the mornings and I have enough trouble staying asleep as it is. Fuck, I'm gonna be miserable and tired as shit tomorrow and it's already starting.
  15. This may get long but I have to vent... Girlfriend's family is in town and crashing on air matresses in our apartment his weekend, I don't feel I've had much of a weekend because we've been playing host all weekend when I haven't been busy. Friday I was down at school almost all day, by the time I got home her parent's and brother and sister showed up. They're very smalltown-ish (from the middle of nowhere in SD) so they like to get up and start the day early. On Saturday, I had to wake up and drive out an hour out of town and go out to brunch with the gang before coming back and working til 10. By the the time I got home everyone was tired and ready to go to bed, so I kinda sat in bed having a couple beers before saying "fuck this... im going to bed too". Today I had to go with them to Ikea (fuck that store) and the Mall of America (which really isn't as cool when you've grown up around it). Now we're at home and they're playing cards and having drinks at the card table table setup in the middle of our living room area. All I wanna do is put some music on, relax and watch some goddamned football or play my PS3 in my big recliner, but we gotta play host... Her parents aren't so bad but her siblings annoy the hell out of me... especially her teenage sister.
  16. I've heard nothing but good about this stuff, I think the shop I work at is getting some closer to winter, if they do I'm definitely picking some of this up...
  17. Shiner has a new pale ale out that I've been meaning to try since I like Shiner Bock a lot... Keeping it simple and local tonight and finishing off a couple of Summit Pilsners Also had a rep from Schell's in the drink shop tonight, tried the Emerald Rye and their Oktoberfest. The Emerald Rye is pretty good, hoppy but not overpoweringly so. The Oktoberfest is pretty damn good as far as Oktoberfests go, I liked it a lot more than the Sam's Oktoberfest... but I have yet to try New Belgium's Red Hoptober, which sounds quite intriguing. Earlier in the day I had a couple of Liftbridge brews... the Farmgirl and the Chestnut Hill, the first is a Farmhouse Ale, which I found to be light and very smooth (drank that one pretty quickly), and the chestnut hill is a bit darker with a very subtle nutty aftertaste, I liked the Chestnut Hill a little more than the Farmgirl but both were pretty decent beers.
  18. FUCK YEAH! KANSAS! Buffalo Sweat is my favorite Oatmeal Stout. Oasis is very nice, also check out their 8-bit Pale Ale, it's awesome. We always go to their local firkin events and last Monday they had a new West Coast style IPA called Area 51, very nice floral/citrusy IPA. Hopefully they'll start distributing it, but the normal rep lady wasn't there so I couldn't get any insider info. Yeah I've had the 8bit, I think people get put off by how corny the can looks and the 8-bit name but yeah, it's a damn good Pale Ale. It makes me happy that 90% of the beers in this thread I have readily available to me at discounted price, from the liqour store I work at... and those we don't carry I could probably order for cheap.
  19. Also, found one last one of these in my fridge... sipping on this now
  20. Got turned onto this by a coworker the other day... it's delicious, Tallgrass also has an Oatmeal Stout called Buffalo Sweat that's pretty tasty Tallgrass Oasis also bought myself a bomber of this stuff, really never been let down by a Stone brew
  21. Been slowly adding to my Batman collection lately... I finished The Long Halloween, and Venom and just bought A Death In The Family for cheap at a used book store. I wanna get the Knightfalls as well. I now have: Year One Venom The Long Halloween The Killing Joke A Death In The Family Arkham Asylum The Dark Knight Returns

Probably my fav album overall...I think like the artwork suggests, the music has a very biomechanical feel. Many of the tracks sound like they are bending and snapping themselves into shape, as equally organic as they are metallic. I also like how despite how glitchy this one is it has a very beat-driven sound, the hip-hop influences can even be heard in many songs. It's definitely the most dancable of their later catalouge For some reason I think I find Untitled to be a little more impenetrable, I think it has to with how odd the timings are on that one. (though I still love the album quite a bit)
  23. I'll look into this, I remember them getting a lot of hate around here but I think they're a fun group. Despite the waves of hipsters the live show last spring was pretty damn fun as well.
  24. It's too hot to sleep, a good bowl would help me drift off, but I gotta wait til tomorrow to pick up...
  25. I could really use a bowl or two this week to unwind, but I can't afford to buy more until I get my next paycheck....
