are buddy holly glasses hipster? I'm really myopic (~ minus 7) and want to get a pair of those

quintessentially hipster

...but horn-rummed glasses don't make me look hipster, or do they and I don't see it because I am becoming one of them?

<VADER>Nooooooooooooooooo.......

Horn-rimmed "Grandpa glasses" are the only kind that look okay on me - I've been wearing some variant of them for 18 years.

Seriously - what's the alternative to hipster glasses? Some one post some non-hipster prescription glasses frames that you would actually wear.

also re: hipsters, i think the only reason people here hate them is because they're just like us, except they get laid more often, lol.

idm nerds do it better

Re: Nerds vs. Hipsters, http://www.viceland.com/blogs/en/2010/07/07/london-nerd-fest-10/ I think the first shots have been fired in the comments section. Nerds: 1 Hipsters: Laid.

hah !! i'm so removed from the scene/human contact. That i though you were talking about liquid holding glasses. So until the memory gland in my embarrassment flushed and constricted sphincter kicked in, the mind was all a flurry of possibility,

is this an hipster glass ... ??

To me, it's the same sort of offense as wearing sunglasses indoors. It's a completely useless, in your face accessory that's just there to impress onlookers. I'm especially bothered when I see a person doing something commonplace, like buying records or sitting with their friends in a coffee shop, who's wearing some loud shit on their face that's there for no other reason than to make strangers stop and say, "What a cool guy!" It just seems like an inappropriate message to send out to people who probably don't give a shit about you.

They're glasses, that's all I have to say.

I might even get myself some hipster glasses now that I'll attend next month's LCD Soundsystem concert.

One trend I have seen a lot on campus lately is this:

hipster_ray_bans.jpg

These just look stupid, and so the only reason anyone would wear them is to look coolly uncool. And that pisses me off. Mainly because it brings back embarrassing memories of the stupid shit I wore in college. Dumb kids!

I was thinking "what could be worse than wearing non-prescription glasses?"

But I think the answer is caring so much about what other people are wearing.

You are cool and sociable in real life, your argument is invalid.

By the way....
