Kids around the country are getting high on the internet, thanks to MP3s that induce a state of ecstasy. And it could be a gateway drug leading teens to real-world narcotics.

And officials are taking it seriously.

 .

-edit- Ah crapulence. I think somebody posted this here a couple days ago. Forgive...

You have to be really careful when dabbling in digital drugs. Unless your buying high quality flac from a chemist your undoubtedly getting drugs cut with impurities prior to distribution. This one time a friend of mine bought some and thought he was getting pure Brazilian loseless, but it ended up being cut with some 8bit crap from Argentina and his ears nearly exploded. True story.

this has been around for years. if i were the type to shout jazz from the rooftops, i would cry, well, jazz. from a rooftop.

that said, this is the lamest thing ever. kids doing drugs is lame. kids using sound files to induce drug-like effects is lamer. adults using sound files to do the same is so lame its uncharted on the lame-omitter.

This is a good point. Also don't forget to idose your 5-htp to induce hella sweet laughing and shaking (please see newscast if you don't know). The lames will tell you 5-htp is only good for getting back to baseline after taking MDxx, but they haven't turned up the volume.

there really are no proper words for how I feel about the media response to this... merely:  ... and even that fails to capture my feelings on the matter, by a extremely huge margin.

I'm surprised the media has ignored another dangerous drug culture quite similar to these darn digital drugs. I think in some circles its called Ghost Running, or OOBR (Out of Body Running, for the laymen). Basically, you jog on a treadmill till your physically exhausted, then lay down in the dark with some Dave Matthews playing and enjoy this surreal sensation. It feels like your still running, even though your body is completely stationary. I've even heard of an analog of this drug involving a stationary bicycle.

all these years, i was under the impression that a drug was a chemical capable of kickin' it in the brain. the times, they are, uh, becoming quite different.
