good films involving pest / infection / virii

been a while since i've last watched Carpenter's The Thing, so i did last night, what a fun film! The greatest creature effects.

Now i want to see some more sic-fi films surrounding that infection theme (molecular, insects...), kind of along the lines of Phase IV, the Andromeda Strain..

ProTip: do no google image search for "infection" :(

If you like cheesy stuff then there's always Cabin Fever. Tits and infection fest.

[REC] is also really, really good but do not watch the awful American remake, 'Quarantine'.

EDIT: Splinter is quite okay as well.

yeah [REC] was pretty good (part one at least...)..

i'm more into last millennium's movie making.. the trailers for Splinter and Cabin Fever don't appeal to me that much.

The true reason why i'm interested in these flicks now is because we had to have pest-control spray our flat for bed bugs btw, trauma reolution :|

dreamcatcher sucked me in for like 20 minutes and then i don't know what happened

it's definitely a very awkward movie, but i can't help but find it entertaining. Not only does Morgan Freeman play a psychotic ET hunter, Thomas Jane and Timothy Olympiant probably do the best performances of their career. I know it isn't saying much but i appreciated trying to bring such a strange Stephen King book to the screen.

maybe i'll give another try in ent-mode so i can let go a little and just enjoy it. i remember almost none of it now but i remember the sensations of loving one scene and then hating the next. as if two versions of the movie were mashed together
