Confield is the nth album by the little known pumphouse duo Ae & is the pinnacle of the abstract dance genre

I actually prefer the first few tracks on Quaristice Versions tbh

So Aphex Twin was the beginning for me and electronic music and I've loved everything I've heard, but apart from the featured artists on here I haven't been able to find much good music. It'd be cool if some of you could post the titles of a few albums you'd consider to be the best of the best, no matter the style or whatever. Thanks.

Start with the "classics":

The Prodigy: Experience and Music for...

Orbital: In Sides and earlier works

The Black Dog: First three

Autechre: Incunabula, Amber, Tri Repetae

Biosphere: Patashnik, Substrata

Daft Punk: Homework and Discovery,

FSOL: Life Forms, Dead Cities, ISDN

B12: Three first albums

Seefeel: Quique

Amon Tobin: Three first

Mouse on Mars: Iora Tahiti

LFO: Two first

Underworld: Dubnobass, second toughest, beaucoup Fish

Leftfield: Leftism

Also: Early stuff by Chemical Brothers, Plaid, Squarepusher, BOC, Bola.

This is better than 99% of the electronic albums released last year IMHO.

Good list - especially the Reload & Global Communication records (I really need to listen to that Reload record again). I got to talk to Pritchard briefly before an Africa Hitech show and mentioned my love for these albums; he seemed genuinely pleased that people still liked them!

I love them for their midground between the Warp/Rephlex sound and the more ambient leanings of FSOL, Biosphere etc. I think 76 14 is rightfully remembered and loved, but the Reload album is an oft-overlooked treasure; especially given its similarities with contemporary AFX material. Often wondered what they'd have done had they continued putting out albums.

Autechre's Radio Mix is a classic, one of the things that really dug its hooks into me years ago:

Arovane and Phonem did an album together many years ago, this track is a standout from that release:

I didn't see anyone mention Clark's latest self titled album. It's ace.

Ital's Endgame is a great recent release as well.

Machinedrum's Room(s) is a classic release, if you're into uptempo type stuff.

Mopfunk's latest Dogwatch is a great album as well: http://recruitrecords.com/album/dogwatch

Self-promo: I just released an album too, in case you're feeling adventurous... tsrono.bandcamp.com/album/i/
