New, dark, building track

Recommended Posts

Here is a new track that I've been slaving over the final mix for, not being able to get it quite right until now.

Please let me know what you think! I included the soundcloud file and a youtube link as well for if you want visual accompaniment. The video definitely colors the mood of the track for me.

I'd love to hear what feelings/visions it brings to you.

Pretty eerie, in an odd way. It's cinematic music to me. Sounds like something Yoko Kanno would make to fill the space of something. It's quite like the dungeon music off of zelda as well.

I didn't watch the video with it, I should add. It's certainly now 'evil' by any means :)

The bells at the start remind me a bit of Pantha du Prince. The strings are cool, add a nice atmosphere to the track. Agreed with Brisbot, it's sounds cinematic and the sound quality is really high. The piano parts in the 2nd half of the track are well played and fit in nicely. For some reason I can imagine Bjork singing over this.

Personally I'm not sure about the lead noise synth, not sure it works with the rest of the tune. Good work, definitely different.

Thanks for listening and sharing the feel you get, bris. That's the best part for me!

I've never heard of Yoko Kanno, so I have something to check out now!

woops, I had meant 'not' evil, by many means. IT kind of makes me think of depression. Heh.

This is actually giving me ideas. I can tell what you doing, but sometimes it takes listening to it to kind of reawaken inspiration along those lines.

Thanks rvll. I'll have to get in touch with Bjork's people and let them know we have something we can work with here.

The lead synth noise is probably going to be polarizing since it's so...in your face? I appreciate the honesty.

Thanks for listening and he feedback. Much appreciated rvll!

I figured you meant 'not".

I'd be interested to know if it felt depressing to others bc it was hard for me to listen to over and over to finish, so that may be why.

Let me know i the ideas it gives you turns into something, I'd like to hear it.

Gorgeous piano part, reminds me of concert classical, the stretchy sounding strings/vocals are really awesome and take a layer of beauty off and give it an evil dissonance, love the bubbling bass part under the track, this is actually a really unique track, excellent arrangement!

Thanks FPS! Unique is the best I could hope for.

Great track, love the tension. The piano is excellent. Love the ending. Overall, very evocative and cinematic.

Thanks so much chaos! I think "tension" is the perfect word to describe it.

Thanks also to everyone who has listened and commented so far. I think attention is the most precious commodity and to have yours for a moment is really something to me.
