cwmbrancity
first & foremost, fuck off Chelsea Bluebirds top of the league, aye wrong thread top 4? if Conte goes and Chelski have already blown it, that leaves room for a rejig Utd or Citeh Spurs Gooners Chelksi or Liverpool.....the latter from Coutinho's rumbles bit like Suarez & then Gerrard scuppering Brendan's ride but Klopp is breath of fresh air, if they hit form who knows the Utd guesstimate is from them prob buying big in the winter window & clicking any1 but Chelski please with Spurs a bookies flutter for £20 cos they've been at it long enough ;) Link to comment
YO303
great opening weekend united and city looked pretty good, its probably gonna be between those two for the title Huddersfield is my new favorite team, they pressed palace to death and it was glorious to watch Link to comment
dr lopez
yeah city won their first 7 games or something and then they just because shit so Link to comment
BobDobalina
lol arsenal looks like ManJou may have finally splashed enough sponds to buy their first post-fergie title miladys Link to comment
Sally Vingoe
i support arsenal, but i'll trade my left nut for a man city premiership title this year, just for the shadenfreude of seeing mourinho lose to guardiola Link to comment
cwmbrancity
Salah today, class Link to comment
cwmbrancity
Ozil looked a passenger again as did Rambo who cant track back, Sanchez cluckin for a move, a mega bucks transfer undermined by these and more if i was a Gooner, i'd want fresh blood in the hot seat, Koeman being my £20 bet eons ago but would pay for a holiday if it happened = priorities Link to comment
chenGOD
Why the fuck would Koeman want anything to do with that shitshow? He's better off trying to do a Pochettino and building something at Everton. Link to comment
doublename
Arsenal are constantly linked to managers with better jobs than managing Arsenal. Man were talking about Simeone and Allegri a few months ago. Link to comment
cwmbrancity
Why the fuck would Koeman want anything to do with that shitshow? He's better off trying to do a Pochettino and building something at Everton. Everton, barring Peter monkey for a head Reid et al's era, are rarely top 4 contenders & Koeman is ambitious what should be a defining season for Koeman if he's to deliver European football, which if we're honest, is surely Everton's best hope, just got bollixed right @ the start of via Rooney's drunk driving bs...top8 if they kick on @ best imho sooooo, with the Gooners, who've defined tedious consolidation in recent years, if you were to add a thoroughbred manager (based on the confirmation bias that those whose careers have included primo-Ajax, Barca & Holland, and managing on an upward sorta trajectory, are usually class) then Arsenal have the infrastructure to match a profile like Koeman's, they could still, just, compete for the caliber of players needed......ex-Ajax + post-Wengers passing.... it ts not entirely w/out merit this is assuming that his focus is on Inglan, cos naturally there are any number of continental clubs who are head & shoulders above Arsenal & who could realistically match his ambitions would Koeman want it? my crystal ball broke a long time ago, but i'm in the black with the bookies on managerial appts, got Brendan's move to L'pool tagged for approx £500 & Poch to Spurs, so this is obviously the opinion of a managerial hotseat predicting savant here Wenger is like that curator/professor who'll have to be dragged by his scrawling fingernails marking away his departure from his desk, it cant last & they'll wanna avoid the kinda Fergy/Moyes legacy debacle Link to comment
YO303
how is klopp different than rodgers? klopp is horrible at setting up a defense, his defensive strategy is "mane, salha and ferminion will score goals so back four dont matter, i'll put klavan in there even tho he is one of the worst defenders in the league" when mane was sent off he had nothing Link to comment
caze
Klavan is not one of the worst defenders in the league, he played really well against crystal palace the other week, and also played in both league games against city last season (we won the home game and drew the away), and was really good in them. Was an unfortunate game for us, we looked the better side until the sending off. Biggest disappointment was that Salah isn't a better finisher, if we'd scored first we don't lose that game. Normally a result like that would leave you pretty demoralized, but don't think it makes sense to read too much into that one. Link to comment
chenGOD
Rooney was back out playing so don't think that's scuppered anything. They still lack quality and depth in the midfield though. Maybe Frank de boer to arsenal? Link to comment
cwmbrancity
cripes, the "Nigels" pretty much define yo-yo wankery, plus that chairman fancies himself as a playa summat rotten context - CP have inadvertently been the focus of a slew of yawning bore-draws down thru the years, the fact they're a manager down in mid-Sept says it all just watch em go in for Warnock just as we've hit some real form Link to comment
caze
ugh. was hoping to never see Roy Hodgson back in football ever again. the thought that he once managed Liverpool still makes me angry. Link to comment
cwmbrancity
some immense goals of the month on MOTD, but youlube's version seems to have been taken over by a random & ardent Hammers fan proxy that if yer abroad Burnley & Watford will surely slide, but someone please take some scalps of Citeh & Chelski ta, couldnt live thru another Chelski title season, Citeh too, throw tens of millions at a target = success these 2 pairs of money bags need a proper shoeing monsoon Link to comment
YO303
Spurs were so disappointing today, once again shat the bed, the'll never win anything (i hope they prove me wrong, i like spurs) Link to comment
cwmbrancity
league seems done & it isnt even December, wtf it'll take someone to go on a proper run of form to challenge Citeh, or injuries & complacency from them, then a toss up of who'll make up the 3 from the rest of the top4 gutted to lose Coleman to the Mackems, did an incredible job after Gary Speed's suicide, surprised it was Sunderland who finally poached him the Zimbabwe coup had a funny twist Link to comment
dr lopez
yeah. wow that spurs game was such a fukkkkkking disappointment. played terribly. v disappointing. anyway boringest league in a few years Link to comment
cwmbrancity
Your stadium transition hasnt helped, but if you look at Kane & Alli (&/or Dier) they're gonna be leading players for England through the next few tournaments & if they can be kept for a bit, who knows Its the money factor in the PL, Citeh & Chelski can overhaul on a whim with player transfers, just as it was looking interesting with Spurs & Liverpool seeming to move up a notch, the Citeh player budget starts to jell & click one or 2 mid table stalwarts make a bee-line for a top6 most seasons, but its still more competitive than the German League or Spain's, how many titles have Juve won this decade? still a continent of domestic monopolies Rooney was back out playing so don't think that's scuppered anything. They still lack quality and depth in the midfield though.Maybe Frank de boer to arsenal? bit of a mare for the Dutch contingent, their player base hasnt quite made the managerial leap, £20 Koeman punt went to fk but Seedorf & Davids didnt get far, shame cos ex-Ajax are usually walking encyclopedias of football Link to comment
YO303
anyway boringest league in a few years qft city 8 points ahead, rest of the big teams too shit to challenge, burnley 7th, rest of the league so shit they should all be in the championship Serie A is where is at this season. Link to comment
cwmbrancity
Pulis gone, a local legend but fk me what shiiiite he brings to teams, there seems to a be a cluster of managers like Pulis & Allardyce (sp?) who work on this get organized mantra, win the knockdowns, good set pieces, but actual football? the game pays too much for a swathe of mediocre players who can just paddle thru games & seasons, but a wage cap is nigh on impossible this will all become irrelevant if Cardiff go up mind Link to comment
chenGOD
This Citeh has won the league nonsense is just that, nonsense. Their defence is already shaky, and if they suffer an injury there, it will only get worse. If they pull an invincibles, then respect to them, but as noted, there’s a lot of season left.
