Always the lushest timbres with Huerco.

Just a heads up, his "Untitled" cassette tape and LP have been pressed again by Opal Tapes and are on sale now: https://opaltapes.bandcamp.com/ Also "repressed" the 1991 tape; snag them while they're hot!

nice checking this now.

Ah fuck, my bad dude; I mistook the cover of the J. Albert record for "Untitled".. Sorry about that. Hopefully Boomkat will get another repress going soon

this guy is so awesomely unique and understated

Isn't he doing really well in the house / techno scene at the moment? He performs everywhere and has got quite a core following already (and deservedly so). For someone relatively new (first EP was in 2012?) that is quite an achievement. I think he influenced quite a few producers in that short period too.

I also don't feel this guy is really thát unique, he's surrounded by the 'lo-fi house movement' with Terekke, Florian Kupfer, basically anything on LIES, Creme Org, Delsin, etc. and you can easily pick up the influences. Not meant as a diss at all btw, he's a top notch producer and being unique is not needed at all to enjoy this, but the guys that started this thing are the understated ones (my real point is, my god, Ross 154 - Strike and his other NWAQ project really were way ahead of it's time).

That said, that Rushing To Paradise track sounds very tasty (and really akin to NWAQ, which is why I was reminded to rant about that again :)).

"redubbed" I suppose is the right term? I'll probably snag that

it's interesting Astro:Dynamics didn't do another run of the 1991 debut tape, that thing was in huge demand, so much so a vinyl repress sold out. I suppose it might be because they had to yank a song from the original because of a sample from the Cure was used

Ah yeah, you're right; brain fart. And I would snag a 1991 s/t redub in a heartbeat. I hope the sample clearance won't hold them back; couldn't they just remove the track, a la "Space Is Only Noise"?

He's my favourite artist in the lo-fi/"outsider" house thing going on at the moment. There's plenty of great stuff on LIES, Opal and a few other labels, but none of it gels with me as much as Huerco S. I grabbed that tape re-release the second I saw it - amazed it didn't sell out immediately given the price copies have been going for on Discogs.

Going to hunt down a copy of this when I get paid.

He upped a gorgeous unreleased piece to Soundcloud a couple of weeks ago:

They could just be against reissuing tapes. Not all tape labels do second runs. Either way I have High Tech High Life on tape and vinyl and I prefer that album slightly.
