It's the closest non-System Shock game to System Shock. (I would argue even more so than Bioshock.) And while I've never played the 2006 Prey, I feel like the 2017 one by Arkane (makers of Dishonored) has a lot of parallel to the original System Shock. (Talos I orbits the Moon, just like Citadel Station orbits Saturn, etc.) Hell, you can even traverse zero-gravity environments, much like cyberspace in SS1. And the Looking Glass reference in Prey is a dead giveaway. BTW have you tried Void Bastards? It's basically a comic book, rogue-like System Shock 2. (Even with overlapping developers.) New DLC is coming soon too from what I've heard.

I've been playing the original System Shock (Nightdive's Enhanced Edition) the last few days. The awkward, complex control scheme can be confusing at first, but for being from 1994 it was years ahead of its time. It's actually making more sense to me now than it did when I first played it at the age of 10.

Sounds delish. I wonder if pickles on the side would compliment it at all. A month or so ago I was visiting my mom and she made Big Erics, which were basically sliced of toast with canned tuna mixed with pickle and mayo on top, topped with cheese. Tastes better than it sounds.

Just got done making a batch of Japanese curry in the pressure cooker, but the carrots and potats are still hard. I think I forgot to push the "stew" button, that's why. Otherwise the flavor is sublime.

Totally worth it imo. Besides, it'll take even less work the next day or two if you have leftover caramelized onions. Might try those once I use up my current onion supply.

I think I discovered a viable upgrade for grilled cheese sandwiches. It involves sauteed onion in between two cheese slices in between two bread slices.

Trump just went on another racist tirade on Twitter, this time against four Democratic congresswomen, telling them to go back to their home countries basically https://www.courthousenews.com/trump-doubles-down-on-twitter-tirade-against-congresswomen/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=trump-doubles-down-on-twitter-tirade-against-congresswomen He needs a stick of primed dynamite lodged in his rear orifice, for the fat, racist, disgusting piece of shit that he is. The bar has been set so low for office of POTUS now, it's practically a gateway to Hell at this point.- 22,233 replies

How does the World view America these days?
ambermonk replied to Rubin Farr's topic in General Banter
Seems like among all five branches of the DoD, the USMC are the most prone to gravitate towards Trump. "Why" is the true question, but I'm sure an actual Marine can explain it better than I. -
Acorn...interesting. I remember Sean Booth wearing an Acorn T-shirt the night Sweepstakes and I met him right after the AE_LIVE Portland show.

I grew up on Commodore 64 and DOS games on x86 PCs in the 90s. With occasional Nintendo on the side.

He handled it professionally, so bonus points to him for that. Those grannies need to quit watching FOX, because it's clearly rotting their brains. -
Pretty sure I have a mouse in the condo again, after more than a month of silence. With it finally cooling down outside, maybe it's getting chilly for them. But I'm not sure I want to risk using the traditional snap traps again, because it didn't go too well last time.

^ A coworker told me about that yesterday, but didn't mention her name. So I asked, "is that Belle Delphine?" And after a few seconds of examination, he said "yup" Gotta give her credit tho, she knows how to exploit desperate gamers.

This won't interest anyone who isn't into old-school FPS games, but Ion Maiden is now renamed Ion Fury (due to Iron Maiden's lawsuit back in May) and the official release date is announced as 15th August: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2019/07/11/ion-maiden-renamed-to-ion-fury-before-an-august-15th-launch/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+rockpapershotgun%2Fsteam+(Rock%2C+Paper%2C+Shotgun%3A+Steam+RSS)

I'm still listening to this. Also, pretty sure J. Robert Oppenheimer's infamous "destroyer of worlds" speech was sampled in Pt. 1

Anyone know the situation with this? It can't be downloaded because it's still on pre-order status, even though the release date was nearly a week ago. Wtf.
