  1. Love Hum. Her new album on 12k dropped on Friday. Really impressed on first listening. Giving the new Arovane & Taylor Deupree this morning before I have another listen today.
  2. Great album. Good reminder to get this back into rotation.
  3. I wonder what they'll do in the next transfer window. Volatile. Can see them getting spanked again by Napoli this week. Tempted to watch the Tottenham game on Sunday too.
  4. 100%, Milquetoast really stands out on Betty. I was chatting with a mate on Friday about the production on Siamese Dream. BV was across some great albums/tracks in the 90s.
  5. Jesus. What is it this time? I'm only mock offended, always interested in matters of taste when it comes to sound/music. Will start my music listening with Disintegration this morning, without skipping any tracks.
  6. New Simon Scott album coming 20th of January 2023. A site study of the nature reserves that formed the basis of his 2012 album, Below Sea Level, on 12k. Ioved both the album and accompanying book. Very much looking forward to this.
  7. Had this chat with a mate when it came out, he loved it, I wasn't so keen. I find it jarring, though I wouldn't skip it. I find Smedleys Melody on Feed Me Weird Things annoying enough to warrant a skip.
  8. Nice little EP with some Autechre (and Richard Devine) adjacency Really like this album.
  9. "A scientist has found that 53 sea creatures previously thought to be silent can actually communicate." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-63380157
  10. Really enjoyed first listen, if a little stressful; not helping setting the right tone for dealing with issues at work this afternoon!
  11. Not what I was expecting when the email came in, but liking this Blawan and Pariah do metal-noise, or whatever genre. Menacing. Will annoy the neighbours with this.
  12. Like King Arthur, it has been foretold that Boris will return when his people need him. Boris still has the investigation into Partygate to deal with. However, he still has supporters in the party.
  13. Truss was one of the most successful PMs we've had in decades. It's not about duration, it's about achievements. People are complaining about U-turn after U-turn, but if you count them up, she was moving the country forward, it was just a way to confuse her detractors. Looking forward to the Netflix show 44 Days. Helen Hunt in talks to play Truss. Boris will probably be back in No.10
  14. Excellent post, was nice to read and think about for myself, but the above is the best advice. Think about your ears too. Spend some time in places you might pass through with headphones in, or are just a part of your journey for you, sit/walk and listen to those soudscapes. I have a soft spot for ventilation/heating systems. Wondering around London's financial area in the late evening, it's easier to find these little walkways or areas as the passage of bodies and vehicles from the day has decreased, and you'll pick up other sounds from the buildings, or something from a few streets over. 220120-T008.WAV if your device is compact, stick it in something and close the door. The fridge, freezer, cupboards, rooms, toy boxes.. try it with degrees of being full, with different things, any enclosed space. If you have access to any cheap contact mics, or get hold of some hydrophones, or something that will pick up electromagnetic, you'll have a blast combining and experimenting recording the same environments.
