  1. Checking in after a few hours away from this thread—I expected way more new posts. Did everybody have a heart attack and die? Blink once if you can hear what I am saying!
  2. Turns out, this is awesome music to put on while one arranges an iTunes playlist. Still blown away by this. THANK YE RICHARDO!!
  3. Do you guys reckon the order of the SoundCloud playlist is like “canonical order” or something? Trying to decide if I want to invest the time to painstakingly move these all around in iTunes here…
  4. It’s been said a million times in this thread already, but man. Positively touching move. Undying fealty to the AFX-man here. Just incredibly generous.
  5. 74 tracks here thru Fork Rave and cURLing as fast as I can. Anyone else keeping up? EDIT: obviously not listening this fast—I just meant keeping up with the DLing. Paranoid I’m gonna miss something or make a typo.
  6. In case anyone is as anal as me, here’s what I’ve got for md5s so far:
  7. Confirmed Cheers. Loving the last few… definitely getting some more modern sounds now.
  8. I’m at 56 trax thru Gerald. Can someone confirm?
  9. I scored a big boxed set of JPN imports by RS a while ago. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, all the classics. I also really enjoy `Ura-BTTB', which is solo piano stuff. Passed up the opportunity to pick up `BTTB' (the LP-length companion to Ura-) and regret it.
  10. I am in the same boat. Splurged on the CD/DVD and honestly, I am still digesting it. Got all the other albums bookmarked for later rainy-day purchases. But, well done to all of you completionists—this is obviously a massive, like honestly staggering in breadth and quality, project.
  11. As always when this happens, I dunno what to believe, but I wish I could own these tracks in full quality. You know, for less than 1,000 euro
  12. I wish you could buy them all in some SUPARDEAL on Bandcamp or something.
  13. I registered with that Japanese website and bought the digital download because I listened to your youtube video, and I'm obviously not alone. Spot on, bonervan. RIP BONERVAN
  14. Pff clearly you know nothing about verdana. Any true verdana fan will know "why" "verdana" about this release. IDIOT
  15. lol u can find it in archive.org in flac version... 'cause ur files are not good as a real lossless... lol, me either, have no time to play it, even if i'd them twice... if one day one should be damaged... but it's funny, i believe that i would play this vinyl for long time & never thought i should have no time... Wait… why tf is there a 48 kHz vinyl rip of Steinvord on archive.org? You aren’t lying! Is this legit? Is this jazz? Anyway yeah, these sound pretty great (slightly less surface noise on the copy I have, but still) and are worth grabbing… if… this is legal?
  16. Didn’t they deliberately change the names all around between when the tracks were on Myspace and really released? Yeah! I’m coming around to the idea of the side-with-two-tracks (“Maelstrom” being the longest track on the EP) being by Squarepusher. “Backyard” has very Squarepushery worm-break-science and that really low grumbly Go-Plastic-style kinda-walkin’ bass. And in the background are some ring-moddy drifting reverbed doodles that are quite Mutilation Colony/crazy Eventide feedback-esque. & then Maelstrom perhaps sounds even more strongly like Squarepusher, including the part in the middle where there’s just an insane amount of twisty original soul (?—spacing on the break name) fuckery—just like the stuff on Go Plastic where it’s so fast the break sounds like someone like, scraping a plate. Plus there’s a voice (!!) very low in the mix around 2:45 that really does sound a lot like Tom’s voice as recorded/mixed/processed in tracks like F-Train. Both in terms of the treatment and also like literally, it sounds like his voice. And compare the crazy smashed “cymbal” sounds (?) at around 6 minutes, which are followed by a nice cavernous rising “orchestration” with, say, Tundra 4. Iyff Acid sounds insanely like RDJ, in my opinion. And the way there’s a ton of fuckery and the drums are so compressed that they are kinda puffy sounding? Totally reminds me of RDJ production. What a fucking cool track… the way the groove settles in too, briefly, with the cutoff OPEN? So fucking clever. The other two tracks are awesome, but I don’t get as strong a feeling of a particular producer from them as the previous 3. Cyg X-1 does have a very brief “turnaround” that involves a sudden harsh, somewhat-expressive rhythmic gating effect, though (Syrroooooo). Anyway, here’s hoping we someday… what? Find out the backstory here? Get more Steinvord tracks? Is there a Steinvord LP? Will these tracks be issued again somehow? Will the missing Myspace tracks appear? What happened to MEN records anyway?
  17. BOINGIGNGNGNGNGNGNGNIGNGNGN JEFFEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP * shakes fist * * posts in the Syro thread moar *
  18. I speculated elsewhere that the T stands for "take". As in, hardware compositions recorded and jammed out several times to get the best version, then edited down in the computer.
