  1. I can’t wait to fill up my iPhone memory with just this album.
  2. I have no time to play vinyl anymore either, but I downloaded an INSANELY nice rip of this. Then I cleaned it up even more and bounced it down to 44.1 (it was 96 kHz!) So… nice versions are out there.
  3. Read the r… oh. That’s pretty good actually. What you did there. Those are my guesses too.
  4. Wowow, lovely. I missed out on ordering the physical of most of these. :/
  5. I feel as if we have somehow not resolved anything in this thread.
  6. Hahahaha I am listening to this now. It’s great! As good as this thread though? Time will tell.
  7. Splendid. It was more the lack (?) of track lists as well as the fact that the physical was originally stated to be shipping (??) but in fact did not ship (???) or maybe it did but is now waiting for more stock and is therefore in “preorder” again but oh by the way ALSO some of the tracks were previously released and also by the way there is apparently a previous cv313 12" called “Dimensional Space” listed on discogs that perhaps is related but maybe not (????) and either way it’s not an LP anyway… that I found confusing. EDIT: Jus’ sayin’
  8. Thoroughly confused at this point, but it sounds like I should just “pre-order” the physical of Dimensional Space today, and therefore get as many tracks as possible (digi track list + 2CD). Is this recommended?
  9. Yeah I got all excited to watch this a while ago and came away quite disappointed. Overrated doc, imo

    Wisp Tracks

They're all good tunes but the part that I was specifically blown away by was how dead-on a Shangaan homage that tune is. While still being great. All the tunes are great; dude has chops

    Wisp Tracks

Holy bejesus. Do you think this was actually composed on an OLPC? More releases Wisp pls
  12. Oh, I wasn't aware you could stream it. Thanks!
  13. Slightly OT (and hard to search on the forum): does anyone know if the Voigt & Voigt album is good?
  14. I am still a bunch a pages behind, just wanted to say thanks for the thread. One of the coolest things ever. Talked PMA-5 briefly earlier, one popped up coincidentally on craigslist, so I bought it. Turns out the guy wanted to meet for the transaction right by the record store. So I stepped in and picked up Levent while I was there. A very ae day, love it.
  15. Eating gluten-free food is absolutely pointless if you are not allergic to gluten. Solid first post. #gluten #alert Sorry, I'll stop gunking up the thread now.
  16. batteries […] cos chrome stylus … qy10 Ha, brilliant. Thanks for the battery info. Fuckin hilarious that I can instantly consult with Autechre prior to prospective gear purchases. Such an epic thread. The QY-10 had an amazing pseudo "808" kick on it that I really loved. I regret selling it a lot, maybe I'll just get another one of those.
  17. After the mention of the PMA-5 (trying to find the reference again in this massive thread—it drove an EP7 track, I think?), one popped up here on my local craigslist for cheap money. Do you recommend that I buy it? Seems like a pretty fun piece of gear, and somewhat elegant looking in a throwback way. I commute a lot so it may be valuable for the "wowwing passers-by on the bus by caning it in my seat" factor alone. I have previously owned a QY-10 (similar digi-junk `pocket` sequencer from Yamaha) and enjoyed it, if that helps to know. EDIT: does one 'cane' a drum machine? Are Americans allowed to say 'caning'? Sorry I can't decide what kind of quotes to use. Thank you for your time
  18. This thread is so good. Much appreciation 1. Any further thoughts on Brian Eno? I'm sure everyone knows the classics, but what I am finding is that even his more obscure stuff is amazing (90s stuff in particular). Just curious if you are `aware` of his stuff (as most people probably are) or actually `follow` it more closely. 2. Any thoughts on all the super-hand-holding audio software coming out these days? I'm thinking maybe the weird "automatic drummer" feature in Logic X or things like that. On one hand, I can see you guys laughing and then forgetting about it, but on the other hand, maybe it's exciting to see how far you can abuse something that is clearly intended as a toy/for novices only. I haven't used that plugin myself, I just find it frustrating that all the tech that goes into making the lamest fucking software lately. Like, just open that up a little more and beginners AND experts could really have some fun with it.
  19. Yeah I’d be interested to hear more about how exactly collaboration works. Even the boring parts like Dropbox, file-sharing systems, what sorts of files you send around (raw audio, full projects, etc.). I’d also be interested in hearing about editing techniques as that’s something I can never really get right. I mean actual edits like stitching jams together or whatever. Just making the cuts smooth, figuring out how to cut stuff, or how to record it in the first place so it can be easily cut later.
  20. Any healthy living tips for those of us who, like you guys (I imagine), are stuck either by choice or necessity inside in front of a computer or LCD screen for long periods of time working? Get up often, take breaks, get some sun, etc? Is there an Ae workout plan or diet regimen you’d recommend? I am actually not joking, btw. Personally I’ve been experimenting lately with a mostly gluten-free diet, which is a pain but seems to be treating me much better.
