  1. Some cunt here spreading poisoned traps for dogs...again. I have to be extra careful when taking the little buddy for a walk. There would be some work for an axe to be done (very loosely translated finnish saying) FWP #2: Acid Reflux is back. Yay, lucky me.
  2. Dunno if I'm getting your question right here but that docsheet (see jejunum's post) has quite nice side notes section where are plenty of notes about those similarities. Here are few from the top of my mind, alas quite obvious and somewhat subtle ones afx origTheme and Spectrum -> UT1-Dot P-string -> Quoth(s) Original Chaos Riff-> Cuckoo beginning of Mooow -> Phloam (ok, this is quite IMO) bob Morgan'n Robocop samples -> Green calx
  3. Probably mentioned thousands of times before but yeah, the XMAS_EVE bit in the track sure is interesting. Can’t remember how old Bradley's Echoes (or fLutterwave) is but the said bit surely took some time to eventually find its way to SYRO. Yup it’s fascinating to notice how Rich has developed some of his ideas and tried out some of those in different songs. Like the similarities between the drum fills in 34.5 P.E and RANDOM FX. Now that the show is over, I could say that my favorite is still Rough Beat Tune like it has been from the point I heard it first time. Other honorable mentions go to afx[rough mix], afx origTheme, Martin’s Car LPF, Mooow, MTG powerpill, Octave Nob, Ibiza Spliff and fooooking rogphlange 1[braiNfLOSS 2] <- ooh how dirty. Yet the most special piece is Utopia - not necessarily the best track of the bunch but that’s the track that started it all. I remember NI64 pointing out that Rough Beat Tune sounds like a twin to Acrid Avid Jam Shred and can’t do but agree on that; they flow perfectly together. Would’ve been sweet if it had ended on ICBYD. And while I’m on it, Sekonda would have been a perfect last track of the album. It’s like a love child of Icct Hedral and Next Heap With. Yet there are bunch of tracks which I can’t really pinpoint under a certain album or alias. It’s one of those great little things which make the soundcloud experiment so great; hearing a totally new and never heard side of Aphex. I’d owe a huge apology to Rich ‘cause before I saw how cool he was with the fans, I thought he was kinda arrogant and cocky person who didn’t really appreciate the fanboys. Or at least that was the picture I got from the magazine interviews. On the other hand he seemed a mellow dude on the radio and tv interviews. Anyway it was nice to see that Rich actually do appreciate people who like his tunes. Now I don’t anymore have to feel like a total ass for investing some money to his music. It hasn’t really prevented me from enjoying Aphex but still…. Thanks again Rich! (sorry for the mammoth post, maybe I should start a blog)
  4. Spotted on the WeMe facebook that Jodey has a new track coming on the upcoming EP from François de Roubaix & Bernard Maitre: "Le labyrinthe des Onix" EP (WeMe035)....or actually not a new track per se, but he has made his own version of the song. I don't have any idea what to expect from the track. Preorders here.
  5. Word. Really digging matashi acid. Eventhough the Lord Of The D tracks were sick, the matashi (or matashis? aren't there two...) was a total win in the PSA set. Oh and while were at it I'm still waiting dunstable trax to be released on digital...Jodey pls. Hopefully we'll get some update about the new releases soon. On the meantime I continue furiously repeating the PSA Jodey special on mixcloud. Such a sweet set. Can't get enough of it.
  6. Since I'm such a gay person I'll share my votes too. The first 20 were my original picks on the first round and after those comes the 10 bonus ones added later. These would be my top five picks in case there is ever going to be such a voting option. Thought to put them here now since being a cheap member I can't edit my posts later. 7. Also want to say my thanks to xf! My number one first world hero. The voting site looks really good. The top list is looking promising at this point but I have to confess I'm little worried for afx[rough mix] (<=teehee no fancy symbols here) and Rough Beat Tune. Two of my absolute favorites (sic). Also surprised that Martin's Car hasn't been more popular... I guess it tells something about the quality of the ''gift''. So many gems and maybe even more coming! Haven't voted yet but will do it within the next few days.
  8. My FWP: yes would love to PLAY it too but that fucker keeps freezing and freezing and freezing again. Had to restart three times yesterday, kinda ruins the fun of playing it. Same problem with both 3 and New Vegas (on PS3 btw). On the other hand it brings some horror elements to the game since I'm continuously fearing when it bugs again.

    APHEX TWIN - SYRO

That's what it says in the gear list on the cover, anyway. There was a soundcloud clip in syrobonkus review of that HAT part in xmas_eve. Should be floating around somewhere with the rest of the tracks from the interview. The first time I heard the said part in Xmas_Eve I too thought that it might have some HAT magic. One of the few times I've actually been right about something. It's a sweet bit in an awesome track!
  10. Sam's Car is more comfortable I think! But Martins Car is cooler and maybe even faster. One of my favorites from the lot btw.
  11. So totally addicted to these. Can't stop listening. Especially loving ICBYD and Ventolin era tracks...and HAB....and Polygon Window...and....ah wtf I love 'em all.
  12. I'm getting super tired of acid reflux. Feeling like someone has put an anvil to my chest which I have to drag around wherever I go. It scared the hell out of me since I first thought that I had some major problems with my lungs. Have been suffering from this on and off since last summer. I've checked my diet and tried some medicine which help temporarily but the symptons just keep getting back after a while. Yay, Rephlex acid outside and acid reflux inside...burb burb long live braindance
  13. I've been using 8gb Sony for years and I love that baby. But thanks to the Aphex soundcloud dump (sorry fingers slipped...) I was forced to find a new player with bigger memory. Couldn't anymore choose what to delete. EAP? Analords? Nope, really don't think so. I've been looking for Sony 16 gb for a while and now that I've got a perfect excuse I decided to get one. Yes, it has only a flash memory and not a memory card slot but since I'm not an audiophile it fills my needs. Haven't really been interested to get iPod. For what I've been told shouldn’t I use it in sync with itunes or something? It's much more practical to transfer files from one folder to another which is impossible with iStuff (?). I haven't really investigated if it's true or not so might be a false statement. I use itunes though because it's good for transferring the bitrates and formats etc. My collection is mainly sitting on a shelf and I've got only my digital-only releases on computer. Can't be arsed to digitalize my whole collection just to get them on iPod. As for the headphones I've been very satisfied with my ATH-MK700PRO. I replaced the ear pads to the ones that come with PRO500MK since they are slightly bigger and while 700's speakers are biggish they can tickle your ears when using the original pads. I had previously Pioneer HDJ-1000 which I loved but thanks to the piece of shit thin plastic parts they didn't last even a year. So one of the reasons why I chose MK700s was that they are very durable. You could drive a tank over them and there wouldn't even be a scratch. Plus since their ohm rate is low I don't need a headphone amp. Keeps things simple.
  14. This all is just b-e-a-u-tiful. Every time when Richard has mentioned that he has tons of tracks laying around I've been thinking that they must mostly be something like alternate takes of the tracks he has released or some jams or then simply tracks that aren't fully finished. But these all are pretty much new never before heard finished pieces and stellar as fuck. Was scratching my head when he said that it's way too difficult to delve into his archives and choose which songs to put to boxset but can definitely understand that now. What tracks would I choose to be released from this lot?.....eh, all of them. Hell, I haven't even got to listen to them all. And my guess is that there are much more tracks that he is holding only for himself. How he has been able to choose the tracks to his back catalogue releases is beyond me. IMO pretty much all of these would have deserved to be released earlier along those. I have been feeling little awkward when people have been praising RDJ as a Mozart of today although I've always loved him over any other artist. But can't really come up with a better term. Dude is a king for sure (<=obligatory fanboy comment). On a side note I'm so happy that I finally upgraded myself to G.O.D v2.0 and got rid of my format OCD. Now I'm genuinely stoked and happy for these tracks and don't have to stick to things that don't matter. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pocrd58ckqpz267/5%20Girl%20Boy%20Dark%20Version.mp3?dl=0 Big thanks! Red calx and this were the ones that I didn't succeed to grab. Also thanks to Anchio Arch io Son Pittore for the complete list. Couldn't remember where to put this gem.
  15. I haven't been able to listen to all the tracks but every one of those that I've, have been some serious quality. I knew that Richard must have massive amout of tunes in his archives but never even dared to dream that they would be this good. Nor that we would ever get to hear them. SO, THANKS RDJ! Would be cool if Warp would put out a comp/boxset of the best stuff. Don't know if that's likely though. Would just love to pay something to the artist for his work. Feeling almost like I'm stealing from him or something....Anyways big thanks to all of you who're archiving these. And extra special thanks to xf. Respect! Have been reading today the thread from the page 24 to 104...have to take a break. Generally feeling like Cate Blanchett in the ending of Indiana Jones 4, almost melting here. Seeing myself on this page tomorrow. Having some catching up to do.
  16. Not sure about Lord of the D yet, but there's a fair chance GEA will get a digital release on WeMe bandcamp. The other ones are on there too :) https://wemerecords.bandcamp.com/ Sorry guys, just had to let some steam out. Like so many others I’ve had a shit past year and the future doesn’t look too bright. So it’s kinda biggie when something you love turns to disappointment when everything else has already backfired. But what the hell, It’s a time for me to crawl out of my hole to 21st century. LOL I must be the lamest poster here and it must be a pain that it’s always the same guy with the same whining all over again. It’s plain stupid and I might as well do something about it than just to bitch about the subject. The problem has been that all my burned copies have tended only to lay in the corner gathering dust when I haven’t really paid any attention to those, just doesn't feel the same. It's stupid since the only thing that should matter is music. Would like to blast sometimes through speakers and not enjoy only with headphones. Now when it’s so big deal maybe I’ll get some cardboard and CD stickers and do my own copies in the spirit of Napalm Enema discs or C2. Some heavy DIY shit alá Martha Stewart. Shouldn’t be too hard to use printer, glue and scissors. Could turn out cool. Truth is that Jodey stuff is too good to pass. Plus yeah, now I can finally get also Varla and Fatale. I checked Discogs and Rewind has put out only vinyl (apart from the one on Rephlex). Couldn't find any digitals of the past releases. Hopefully this will find its way to bandcamp etc. Would like to buy this instead of using some questionable ways.
  17. So Lord Of The D will be vinyl only when it comes to physical, right? Oh man I was dying to get those PSA tracks, but guess I’ll have to pass. My heart cries every time I have to pass a Jodey release. Would’ve loved to get GEA too. Seems that Jodey is yet another artist to whom I have to say bye bye. Well anyway, it’s great that so many labels are interested of Jodey because IMO his stuff totally deserves it. He has been my second favorite artist after Aphex for a long time. Always could expect quality and quality only. Sorry dudes for my rant, just so frustrated. Not meaning to spoil the fun so hopefully you’ll enjoy the hell out of those two. God I’m so out-dated…
  18. Aye, me too - I mean that's not to say I hate it, but the first CD/DVD release definitely has had my fill of the Colundi sound This might be a goldmine though if you happen to be interested in the scientific/philosophical aspect of music. All I'm interested in are good tunes and can only rely on my ears. I'm not saying that it's bad or anything. I appreciate that there's more in it than only the surface but in general I prefer music which makes me bounce my feet and clap my hands than creating an urge to write a paper about what I've just heard....Too vulgarian? lol i am not... i just happen to think it's good music. Yeah I hear you. What I was after was that if you were into such things this could be some seriously superduber yappadappadu stuff plus great tunes.

  20. I'm quite relieved that I'm not so much into this Colundi Sequence thing, 'cause I would propably go mad with all these different formats. Purchased the first CD/DVD edition but was more after MU4 which is great. Not as great as MU1 but still enjoying it a lot. Plus it's a long album so there's a lot to digest. Ovuca bonus was much more closer to Colundi material but IMO MU4 is standing on its own since it's stylistically quite far away from being this experimental minimalist techno that Colundi stuff represents. I cope fine with my rips of CS 1 and 2. Don't necessarily need more. On a side note it's a pity that Boomblaster didn't get a physical treatment apart from the four track vinyl. That included some of the best Aleksi tracks. Oh Rephlex, you weren't ready to go
  21. Pissflaps, just to ensure you didn’t get me wrong; I wasn’t trying to piss on your territory. Yeah I got it that you can’t get only that drum part hence I mentioned the possibility of same machinery. Like I said you know your shit while I don’t know a shit so I’ll trust your judgment. All in all my whole post was like my posts usually are: dull and pointless so you should treat them as such. I guess it brings some new dimensions to the listening experience when you actually know how to create music yourself. It must be great! I for one get my kicks from other elements. But hey, you don’t have to be a cow to know if the milk is sour. Some rock people who still think that electronic music can be made by pressing only a button should really pay a visit here. I don’t understand why some people are so upset of us speculating if Richard indeed has something to do with Steinvord. I never said it was without a doubt Richard but what I said was that if I had to make a choice between the two titans, my bet would be on him. Don’t see why it couldn’t be but on the other hand I think it’s possible that it really is some new dude. Now if everyone is happy let’s all join hands and sing a Celine Dion song.
  22. Sooo if I gather all the clues from this thread and Aphex Ripping others thread this is how it went: Tom sent some tracks to be released on Rephlex which Rich nicked and made his own versions which were put to myspace and finally released few years later. Joyrex was allowed to say what Steinvord is when the album would come out on Rephlex, but as clever as Richard can be he shut the label down and now Joyrex can't say anything and has to stand me teasing him frequently about the subject. (sic) Lame jokes aside, if those soundcloud tracks really are Steinvord and that means the project is back then great. Hopefully something will come out eventually. Now that I've become more familiar with Squarepusher's drill side (albeit briefly) I think that if Steinvord should be either Tom or Rich, it would be the latter. Especially Mangle is so Steinvord (or should it be the other way around). Sorry pissflaps but I still can't help but to hear the same drums on Bonneville Occident and Backyard. The rim sounds exactly the same. Maybe sampled or same machinery. Don't know. Thanks for this. The track was good but sadly the whole album doesn't really keep me interested long enough. Yet I'm part of NI63 thankcamp and will bear this in mind in case I run out of new stuff.

    APHEX TWIN - SYRO

I really love the bonus track, sounds very futuristic indeed. Can't believe I even doubted if I shoud get the japan version or not . Haven't fed up with the album. Loving it both ways: with headphones or speakers. I still get shivers when listening to Minipops and smile like an idiot when PAPAT kicks in. Have to confess though that I thought that Metz was little bit too long and there was nothing happening somewhere near the end. Now I'm surprised when the whole track seems to end before I even realize. It's as long as it should be. Amen
