  1. Strange, I read from everywhere that all the previous models had been discontinued. I bought my Sandisk from Finland and so didn't use Amazon or ebay and it was the only model available. Ironically the main motivation was to get an easy and quick player for everyday use. So when it turned out to be what it is, it was a little frustrating to say the least. And the fact that there wasn't any info about the card class in the manual and the max song limit was only vaguely mentioned in the sandisk help site got me scratching my head. But I cope now with the piece. Battery life is fine and it's not the end of the world if an album has a little unusual track positioning. I play it much on shuffle anyway. The half-arsiness is only little frustrating. But as I've said previously I've been totally satisfied with Sony. Currently using NWZ-A15 (16 GB internal memory + memory card max 128 GB) and have been keeping my eye on new NW-A35. FiiO has also received mainly positive-only response. I don't know how damn loud you people listen to your music since I haven't been annoyed by the volume limitations on Sony walkmans (it's an EU thing right?). Also, 50 hours battery life is a big plus. I'm a dinosaur since I'm not interested of streaming at all and not really fond of the idea of using phone as a DAP in general. I must charge my phone all the time anyway and I even barely use the piece, let alone I would have to use it to play my music files.
  2. Oh wait, it seems I got confused by that "newer model" part on AJW's post since my post was about ClipSport+. Sorry folks, can't edit my original post with this account. Automatically just assumed we were talking about that "newest model". If my memory serves me right Sandisk had to make some sacrifices in order to increase the battery life from previous models. I had read good reviews about Sansa and Sport but since Sandisk has stopped making those ClipSport+ was the only option. Couldn't have believed that they had compromised that much to get a better battery life and keep the costs low. So compared to its predecessors this one seems to be a let-down. And imho a bit misleading to use partly the same product name as it's highly rated predecessor when there are so many fuck-ups and alterations which have actually made the product worse. Yeah I usually use the folder menu but like I said despite the fatsorter it's partly messed up with wrong order of songs and albums and then there are those desktop files etc. :( Thanks for the Xduoo hint though. Not a gear head but I've got my soft spot with headphones and DAP's / mp3 player.
  3. Hey Joyrex, I've been thinking to ask this for a some time now so now that we've got an own thread for MfM will drop my query here. All those times you've assured us that the MfM which everybody knows is only a demo if anything and thus miles away from the actual tracks, has made me curious if you have actually heard the vinyl version (CAT 087) or do you just assume/use your wits or know from Richard's words that the bootleg tracks are completely different game? And how would you compare them to the new re-worked ones?
  4. I'm on my second one of the newer model (Clip Sport), while different from the previous generation I don't think there's anything else that comes closer. I don't use cards though, only internal memory. I remember something about the new model not being great with memory cards for some reason. The newer model isn't as great as the old one, more lightweight and generally has a cheap, plastic feel to it. But hey you get used to it, and yeah it's probably still the closest you'll get to the old one. I bought two, so have an extra should this one suddenly conk out Hmmmm my ClipSport. I had heard some good things about Sandisk players so bought one for a more casual listening (jogging, wandering in forests like a true hippie, taking the doge to poopoo etc.) a couple of months ago and boy it kept me "entertained" for the first couple of weeks. Although I always try to get as much info about the things I'm about to get, there came few surprises. First I had major problems of transferring files to 32 GB sandisk card. After spending a couple of hours transferring the tunes I was thrilled with my new toy having some nice songs, but instead of immediate joy it ended up giving me only some transferring error notes. After some googling I found out, that for some reason unknown to anyone the maximum amount of songs per card and internal memory is limited 2000 (max 4000 overall that is). So keeping that in mind, tried transferring some tunes but surprise surprise, again some error in transferring. The card had worked perfectly in my Sony (naturally had formatted it with my computer as well as with sansa and with everything) so it couldn't be a bad card. Well, googlin' again and it turned out that the Card must be class 4 at tops so therefore my fancy class 10 was too fast. How about sorting my library....since it's fat32 and ClipSport doesn't do any kind of sorting, I had to Google some old fatsorter and found a recommendation for one, but which was deleted from several freeware databases. Ended up finding a working link after some digging .....but it doesn't work perfectly and does only part of the job it's meant to. Sometimes the player can't see the difference between albums with similar names such as SAW 85-92 & SAW II or my albums of AFX soundcloud 01,02,03 etc. so they are lumped together on the album's list. Organized properly as albums in the folders menu but there the track positions have gone totally haywire instead in spite of the fatsorter; they're not in numerical order nor organized alphabetically. Also there are some desktop etc. file types between the songs which fortunately don't affect in playing the songs, but which can't be seen on computer and therefore I can't delete them. Can live with it now but if I knew all that now, would have ended getting something else, FiiO M3 perhaps. My classy Sonys will not leave home. They for one are perfect for me. Easy as hell to use. TL:DR Getting a Sandisk clip sport, know this 1. Card and Internal memory limited to 2000 songs per memory type (4000 max that is.) 2: Card should be 32 GB Class 4 max (sandisk preferably) 3. People with even mild OCD, for your own sake, go for some other product/manufacturer instead.
  5. All Jodey's Rephlex releases are on his Bandcamp: https://edmsoundwave.bandcamp.com/music
  6. Bump since I need a help to indentify some tracks and thought this was the best thread to find them. So wizards please do your magic and help the noob I've been enjoying loads of Royal Subsonic Consortium mixes by our very own Adamovich. I totally fell in love with the Hague sound found from the mixes and which happened to be exactly what I was after. I've been PM'ing with Adamovich a lot and bombed him with my requests (to which he has been responding with great patience) but since his hard drive died some time ago he really can't remember the tracks in this mix. So would be super cool if you guys could help https://www.mixcloud.com/RoyalSubsonicConsortium/brutal-acid-sesh/?utm_source=widget&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=base_links&utm_term=cloudcast_link ~ 00:12:30 ~ 00:25:15 (before A001) ~ 00:33:37 ~ 00:39:45 ~ 00:49:10 ~ 01:03:45 So if you're into Bunker / Panzerkreuz / viewlexx sound you could know some of these. If not then just enjoy the mix, it's savage :) Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Google should develop a reverse tune search...
  7. Just try to cope a little longer, the whole subject will be dropped when everyone goes to ape shit as they realise there are two drukqs mixes hidden in SAW II
  8. Maybe because I'm lazy and cheap but strong +1000 to this. Please.
  9. This is so sweet. ICBYD has been on my top 5 list of best records evah so long and now with the added bulk of SC tracks + Consta-Lume, It's even better. Already wrote on SC thread but Sekonda is sure something that belongs on ICBYD. Hadn't thought that With My Family and No Cares were ICBYD tracks but they fit there nicely, also winding road is surprisingly fitting. God, thinking if it included also Rough Beat Tune, Ibiza Spliff and Tamclap. Oh and also Cornish Spreek, [slo]w early morning clissold sunrise and....
  10. About the Rephlex back catalogue uploading comment, IMO it's kinda obvious it means Rich's releases only since it's an Aphex store. Plus the rights were given back to artists and nice amount of stuff have been already re-released by the artists themselves. So no brainer there, dunno why people even scratch their head with that. But the AFX Rephlex stuff.... thinking about AB5. I've been listening to A1 and B3 a lot lately and those are something I'd love to see in Aphex store. lol or think about trolling us with CAT023 including extras I feel still such a donkey for not buying the whole GAK and ICBYD. With my luck I finally end up buying both when Rich is done with adding the tracks on them
  11. Really loving these. Especially Rushup Edge and complete (?) Field Day which ended up being our eagerly waited T-Trax release. Don't want to bitch about it but I'm little worried how much I end up spending on these if there will be tons of tracks more to be added to the albums I already own and hence bought only extra bits. Was so stoked and didn't read the rules nor this thread. At least should have bought ICBYD in full. But then again remembering those 250 tracks for free so fuck it. But some new shit bundle would have been / would be nice. I've got a itch that this is only a start. For those wanting a physical shit think about the absence of tracks like tamclap, ibiza spliff or Cornish Spreek although could end up on AFX store too. And Primavera & DFN tracks will most likely be on the next full length LP. So stoked here about this all! Blah blah this is just fucking great. Thanks Rich again
  12. Sorry, countdown timer machine broke, which is understandable. Have a nice day.
  13. lol, you're the most dedicated braindance fan I've ever met. Distance is only a distance, not an obstacle. Tip my hat!
  14. lol, A+ vid. Also good to know they're just two tracks from the soundcloud dump. I thought that was the point. Like, didn't Todd say he wanted to release two or so "rave tracks" from the dump on this skate shop 12"? I never believed it was to be some unreleased shit. Then again that was before DFN and Field Day and their exclusives. But Tsim and Gerald mix that is. Also, nice wealthy looking toes Lopez!
  15. Uros

    APHEX TWIN - SYRO

Wow, this was a decent cover. Great work on those little details. Thanks for sharing!
  16. Wicked! The clip has been on heavy rotation on my end. Really dig it. Hopefully Rich will enable download function for the track. And for tnodvood too!
  17. Yup, can play and listen to them too, although I've got only some crappy player but it does its job. Occult Research releases (and EDM D4) might be the biggest reasons I'm still so into tapes. Play them regularly, they are actually quite fun to toy around with. On a side note I agree with oscillik, I neither can't understand people for buying some ultra limited pressings and not to play them. pfffff, music is meant to be heard. It's not just some hipster decoration detail or investment you can post some pics about to show your instagram followers.
  18. I was somehow dissapponted by these when I saw Prometheus for the first time (although I like the film and I'm looking forward to this one too). And Atop already pointed this out some years ago (I know how to use search function ) and yes these are widely known but just popped into my mind. Did Giger get any recognition about these or was he treated again like a "petit suisse"?
  19. The layout on a new promo reminds me of Giger's "National Park" (or "Vlad Tepes"). Prolly because they all include lots of heads...
  20. of course we can trust him 100% i mean just look at him, you can see this man would never troll anyone Yeah. Would you buy an used tank from this man? I would.
  21. So do I get my IDM points back now? After all, we've got a source we can always trust 100%, right?
  22. It's not him. It's never him. There are always tell-tale signs. When the dump started and he only had those 8 tracks up... There was something almost obvious that it was likely him. It's a combination of a lot of things, but it's really just an intuitive feeling. Feeling pretty much like this. Good song for a good cause though.
