    Afghanistan doesn't produce oil to any significant degree (not even in the top 100 countries in the world, though it does have greater capacity than it's currently set up to exploit, but don't expect that to dramatically increase anytime soon, and even if it did, it wouldn't be anywhere near the top oil producing countries. Worth noting that the Afghan government doesn't want the US to withdraw its troops and anyone thinking that if they did it would lead to good times for all involved are seriously deluding themselves (would be good for the Taliban of course). Long term the current situation isn't going to accomplish anything (aside from preventing it getting a lot worse maybe), and that's not going to change unless Pakistan sorts it's shit out, they're a bigger problem in all this than the US at the moment. Like most of the world's current thorny issues this one doesn't look like being resolved anytime soon, but it is one where it's possible to make things a lot worse, and the US pulling out now would definitely help in doing that. It's also worth noting that Trump's policy is basically no different than Obama's policy, thankfully Trump doesn't seem to be having a huge impact on policy here, though he did try to until the generals convinced him otherwise (like they did with Obama).

    lol lexx. I also remember watching snippets of that show on late night tv (not even sure if I ever watched an entire episode), primarily because of the bird with the blue hair and the tits, she was replaced with another actress in the 2nd season or something. I also can't remember much about the plot either, was there some kind of insect aliens?

    defenders is indeed pretty shit, the characters all turned into cardboard cutouts of their original versions from previous shows for some reason. so much cringey dialog, really lacking in subtlety. still has really good fight choreography and a decent soundtrack, but that's about it. the overall story is also pretty lame. I liked the first Daredevil and Luke Cage (aside from Diamondback, who was the hammiest actor I've seen in a long time).

    so are there any of the anti-globalist faction left? everyone else seems to be pretty standard washington/wall street status quo types. trump himself might be the only one left, but even then I don't believe he has any real principled beliefs really. will this be the point that the morons who voted for Trump because they thought he was going to fuck the system finally realise they've been had? probably not.

    there were some interesting ideas in there, if they were more talented it might have been good.

    World Peace wasn't actually very good though, there was a few funny bits perhaps, but ultimately it was pretty amateurish, they're just not very good improvisers or performers, they could get away with that a bit more doing dumb short youtube skits, but making the step up just highlighted how lacking in actual talent they turned out to be.

    This isn't a good analysis at all, completely fails to mention the role socialism had in the growth of nazism for a start (until the night of the long knives), continues spreading the myth of neoliberalism, totally mischaracterizes the state of the world economy today wrt to levels of poverty, general well being etc. all in all not a lot positive to say about it at all really.

    he's a talented producer, his melodic sense is so paint-by-numbers though, really lacking in any originality or inspiration. that vinyl post was on point though.

    The bits that didn't have the main xenomorphs were alright, but they managed to somehow remove all the fear and tension from the final 20-30 mins of the film somehow, especially the bits with xeno #2.
