  1. this was in the latest ep of vice principals: the world needs more pedal steel + moogey brass
  2. ...also, the governor specifically told him not to come down, because the cops have better things to be doing than providing security.
  3. I thought it was pretty good, and I don't think the exposition-heavy dialog was a flaw, it was the whole point, to showcase the bureaucracy.
  4. I always thought tahina was a different type of dip, made with tahini (it's got garlic and lemon juice and cumin in it). I'm guessing people interchange the various words pretty loosely.
  5. you can always make it yourself, just toast some sesame seeds and blend them with a few drops of oil: http://www.inspiredtaste.net/26901/easy-tahini-recipe/ also, you shouldn't be using tahina to make hummus, you should be using tahini (maybe you just made a typo).
  6. Irish jazz guitarist Louis Stewart just died. He was really very good, probably not all that widely known outside of Ireland sadly. The album this one is from is worth checking out if you can find it (Out On His Own):
  7. While there's some evidence that stop signs and similar traffic markings in built up areas are counter productive in terms of road safety, there's none that I'm aware of that speed limits are similarly problematic. Quite the opposite really, road traffic accidents are incredibly highly correlated with speed (much like they used to be with drink driving before that was dramatically reduced, leading to a dramatic reduction in accidents). Robot cars will of course fix all this soon enough though regardless.
  8. Nonsense. I thought that was a nice touch, departed from the usual bullshit in movies. She fancied him more, and in the end he wasn't quite the asshole everyone assumed anyway.

    DANK MEMES

they're pretty dank cakes, so they're half right at least. just need some watmm recontextualising to finish them off.
  10. Nope. He clears the ball, and then Walcott runs in from the side and trips over him. If Walcott had been there already it would've been a foul, but they both were running for the ball, parallel pretty much, and Moreno got there first.
  11. Liking the 3 bar fire, handy footstool. all those cables dangling in front of it are a bit of a fire hazard though.
  12. I wouldn't say no to a player like Rodriguez or Hector, but Klopp, unless he's keeping his cards close to his chest, doesn't seem all that keen on upgrading at the moment. It doesn't matter that the contact was slight, he won the ball, wasn't a penalty. I agree it was a shit attempt at a clearance (wasn't a tackle) though, if he'd have made a clean contact and sent the ball up the pitch it would've been obvious and the ref wouldn't have had any doubt. Moreno's positioning was exactly where Klopp wanted him (he does the same in every game, if that wasn't the plan he'd have stopped him/dropped him long ago); we're supposed to break quickly (and you never do both full backs, unless you're barca), it's up to the rest of the team to get into shape and not give the ball away stupidly.
  13. We were never going to buy a 'guaranteed starter' left-back, Klopp seems happy with his options there (including Gomez, Klavan and Milner), but wanted to sign a young player like Chillwell (we ended up getting a former Barca youth player, Juanma - he'll probably play with the U23s this season). Moreno is a decent player btw, important to how Klopp wants us to set-up and press teams. He's not the finished article, but doesn't deserve half the flack he gets (e.g. while it was a crap attempt at a clearance for the penalty the other day, he did actually get the ball, so it shouldn't have been a penalty; and he wasn't at fault for their goal - was Lallana's fault for stupidly giving it away when we were breaking - aside from the penalty he didn't do much wrong all game). Klop was defending Moreno today in fact at his presser.
  14. We wouldn't have, we turned down three bids from them already. He had a long contract, we'd have sent him on loan to Italy or somewhere if need be, then tried again next summer.
  15. he was good in that recent Hellen Mirren drone movie too
  16. It's not a lot in today's market, even for us he scored a lot given the amount of time on the pitch he had. He's better set up to play in that team as well, should do well there.

    Now Reading

Zero Zero Zero by Roberto Saviano, a book about the global cocaine trade. First bunch of chapters are mostly about the history of the Mexican cartels, had a vague idea about all of that, but reading the full details of it really blew my mind, fucking mental stuff really.
  18. CC didn't make the 'scratch' track... afx mentioned he had the master though, when he was asked on the soundcloud if he would upload it.
