    patchouli, one of the worst smells in existence, does have value. it is a warning that you are about to be in the presence of someone you will undoubtedly not enjoy being around. an entitled goo-brained hippy type of person. so, once you smell patchouli you have a choice. leave or stay and hope the offender leaves. how long can you endure the foul smell will determine your actions. a possible 3rd option is to plug your nose with two halves of a cigarette.

    they opened appointments for everyone which is how i was able to make an appointment. i think the vaccines are updated boosters and not last year's boosters. interesting about Novavax. i haven't heard of it. will keep tabs on it.. if it comes available maybe i'll get that one next year

    also worth mentioning that trump is a landlord. he was sued by the DOJ for denying apartments to black people. he lost that case. also, his son in law Kushner is a slum lord. predatory landlord that basically extorts money from poor people and low/middle class people via rent fines/fees for all kinds of shit. there's documentaries about how they work. he's a huge piece of shit. these are not good people. whatever biden's flaws are, and i know he has many and a not so flattering legislative history (like many his age who were in congress), he's still the better choice over trump and the people he surrounds himself with. i think biden is the best version of himself, currently. that doesn't mean he's come to his senses about everything but he's certainly seen the light on some issues.. still gets it all wrong on others though.. but as a person who votes for harm reduction he's who i voted for. there's not a candidate under the sun who is going to be all the things i want a president to be.. but it's clearly possible to vote for someone who might get a few things right, help make life better for some people. it's pretty much how it goes. i've thought there's always a clear choice but sunlight isn't shining out the ass of any of these people. as a reminder.. if you want a recap of Bush Vs. Gore and how different things might've been under gore.. just watch this short doc about how the bush admin was talking to each other about iraq, terrorism etc. these are leaked memos of what went on.

    yeah. i miss him. the story about how he switched meds because of side effects.. to upgrade to more modern meds w/less side effects and fewer interactions.. they didn't work. then when he switched back to his old meds the synapses had closed up or whatever.. which is a risk he knew about... but was a small risk i guess.. anyway.. old meds didn't work and then he was just dealing w/the depression full on. one of his fellow writer friends described his last years as trying to write his way out of boredom... which is where the Pale King comes from i guess. it has some brilliant passages but is very raw and woefully unfinished. there's also a whole section that is basically lifted from an interview of Beck in the 90s.. it's well used in the Pale King but i recognized it immediately because there's such a memorable story. I wish the Pale King was finished. it had some really amazing bits and some LOL moments but was buried in the tedium of accounting and IRS culture. anyway.. i've been fascinated w/him and his work for a long time and read it all more than once and 3 or so times for some of it. several years ago during the #meToo era a story came out about a woman he was obsessed with who was married.. she alleged he threw her out of a moving car.. basically was dropping her off and didn't come to a complete stop and pushed her out the door. he stalked her or something and also tried to hire someone to kill her husband. this makes me think he was deep in some kind of psychosis.. not to make excuses.. but i wish he was around to speak to that. she is also a writer and her work didn't gain much interest when compared to David Foster Wallace and is one of the things she spoke about.. as if anyone of that era got attention like he did for his work, Infinite Jest, which is kind of a big deal. not many people got the kind of attention he got. blah.. anyway, how about this? edit: oh also this

    yeah.. lot's of good stuff and crossover episodes with other youtubers. been subscribed for a while. his stuff about USA suburbs is good. generally adds just enough wtf humor and some positive spin to not be doomer all the time.

    so, Ancient Aliens Live was surreal. goofy funny. well scripted.. lot's of jokes and typical pulling of "facts" out of their asses and "it's aliens" type stuff and beating of dead horses mostly.. but nick pope who plays the moderator and is often more grounded in reality had a lot to say about possible future whistle blowers and things in the coming defense budgets that mention "non-human intelligence" like 40 times etc. it was fun to go and was well attended and the crowd was a trip and lot's of older/younger etc demographics. we had a good time and i think were the only 3 people in the place wearing masks... fuck crowds!

    i get vertigo just watching them do shit like this. it's that fighter pilot gene they have. one mistake and he's dead. get a little too close to that inside wall and bump a shoulder.. dead. it's so insane that people see a mtn like this w/a path like that and think "go get the drone. let's do it." these dudes are probably just as comfortable on their bikes as they are walking.

    not really. in an interview the journo asked him about editing in the audience sounds and his banter and he said something about playing w/the idea of what's live and what isn't.. or something like that.. i read that interview a long time ago.. but think some of the tracks might be from gigs.. you should track down the interviews from that era to know for sure

    mainstream media definitely making mistakes. just saw some tidbits of an interview with him from some NBC reporter asking him all these questions about what he'd do if he was re-elected... this seems too normal.. and yeah.. i'm sure they had to agree to not ask certain questions to be granted an interview but wtf. it's shitty. they're dumb or just planning on him being the republican nominee so treating him as such.. this kinda flys in the face of the various charges and indictments and criminal cases still pending.

    trumps normal crazy is way more dangerous than a slipping biden in mental decline. not optimal but better than trump. trump is always going to do what's best for trump. that's how he approaches every situation. it's all transactional and "how will this help me.. what's in it for me?" - this is his primary concern. as for the deep state.. sorry but that's laughable. he's only echoing what his base thinks so he can get cheers and stay in their favor. if he wants to fight the deep state it's because they have the dirt on him and are putting it in the hans of people who want trump gone.. or they know what he's up to with all his financial shenanigans and money laundering because they do monitor those things when attached to some people... so, if trump has done some shady international deals and people around him have too.. and broken laws etc.. this is bad for trump for the 'deep state' to know about so of course he'll fight them because it's a benefit to him.. but i don't know what it looks like for him to fight the deep state other than firing various heads of three letter agencies and putting in cronies who are just as corrupt as him and will do his bidding. trump wants to be a dictator. he wants power. he wants to be like putin or china or north korea. president for life.. subject to no laws. he wants to hurt people who have wronged him or challenged him or even said a mean thing about him and he wants to roll in piss in a fancy bed.
