  1. Got 6 months left of the most boring and soul-sucking uni course ever which is driving me insane, then I need to have found a job by the end of that and I haven't got a clue what to do or where. There's no opportunities where I grew up if I was to stay with my parents and I can't afford to live anywhere else. Need to conjour up money which doesn't exist somehow. This is going to be a long and stressful year of going round in circles. Nothing serious just a load more insignificant shit piled onto what's existing already.
  2. Gonna be one of the shittest years ever for me
  3. I hope your little one has a speedy recovery! My dad always tells me about how my when my older sister was 3 years old, the front door to my grandma's tower block slammed on her finger on New Year's Eve 1999 and my family spent the first monents of the new milennium in A&E.
  4. The days where I can invite people to anything and they'll turn up within 20 minutes of me sending the message are going to be over soon - making the most of my youth ?

I've not even seen Avatar 1. Heard Avatar 2 hit $1bn in the box office today though which is cool hopefully it overtakes that shite new Top Gun.

It's a cycle of counter-culture/ the grass being greener on the other side. Because you were raised in a certain period, everything seems normal or maybe even bad because you take it for granted. Your kids then look back on that difference between their own time period and that of their parents and find the mysticism of a by-gone era alluring. Maybe life is getting more and more convoluted or whatever and each generation looks back to their parents' generation for a bit more simplicity in life. Who knows. I've noticed that fashion looks back 20 years whilst coexisting with new ideas and styles. 90s fashion was big in the 2010s and now 2000s fashion is big now in our new decade.
  8. This didn't age well. Still a decent boxing day result (2-1 win against Norwich). 12th place with a game in hand and the points are insanely tight! A win with that game would take us to 5th place. Interesting to see Arsenal are still digging in and gunning it for the PL title.
  9. Every time I hear Summer Madness it gives me goosebumps. First heard it here. The video has loads of the cast of Kids (1995) that Larry Clark & Harmony Korine film.
  10. Ahh shit I was hoping it'd be good I too loved the witch and lighthouse. What made it worse than the other too?
  11. This one always brings me tears of joy - got so many lovely memories attached to this one. I 100% agree, Fast Car is such a sad song ? The cover version that Xiu Xiu did in 2003 is really haunting.
  12. Of course man just send me a message any time. My parents are both French but I was born and raised in England so my recommendations are only really things from the 50s-80s that my parents and grandparents still listen to, and contemporary things that I listen to at the moment. Got very few 90s + 00s recommendations to make I'm afraid! As for Portuguese music it was my friend that showed me because he's a massive fan of 60s + 70s South American music in general so I'll need to ask him for more recommendations but I was really impressed with Jorge Ben Jor's material.
  13. Been playing a stupid amount of MW2. Now that they've released a new shipment map (they've added a snowman and christmas tree lol). The double XP event was cool for levelling up loads of weapons that I won't use in future but need to level up for attachments I want. On the side I've also been playing the new lego star wars too. I got it when it came out but stopped playing after I finished all of the levels but now that my friend is really close to 100%ing the entire game and showed me his progress and it made me want to start playing again. Also been playing the remastered GTA SA over the last year and finished the last mission the other day. Probably going to carry on with the assassins creed ezio collection or maybe gonna complete GTA 4 again.
  14. Wake me up when the Euro 2024 is on. Don't think I care about the Nations league. Anyways time to watch Lyon and Luton lose every week ?
  15. Reminds me of this old panel from 1989 in London And the entire train including the names of all of Robbo and Drax's friends (beats a card any day!)
  16. Definitely going for American funk & soul like Roy Ayers Ubiquity's earlier studio albums, as well as Weldon Irvine, The Delfonics, Mike James Kirkland, The Isley Brothers etc. As for French artists too, I'll go for Françoise Hardy, Marie Laforêt, Joe Dassin and maybe Serge Gainsbourg Portugese artist Jorge Ben Jor also put out HEAPS of amazing material before 1975 but my knowledge of South American music is unfortunately really narrow. Finally I always go for the more well known ones like Nick Drake, The Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, David Bowie (I love Diamond Dogs), The Stooges and others.
  17. Yeah man we found a shop that had discounted Le Creuset stuff so we ended up getting shitloads of pots, mugs and a nice teapot too.
  18. Now Messi has to go back and play at PSG. Dude's gonna get abused every single game this season now lol
