  1. I decided to go with "aphex twin albums ranked", "aphex twin albums best to worst" and the like, and got pretty lucky pretty quickly as you can gather from my stellar reaction time. I would also argue that "underrated" applies more to a general audience (as represented by reddit and others here) than to "critics" on sites like Pitchfork who, with all due respect, can fuck themselves with a farm tool of their choice.
  2. As luck would have it, I (consciously) heard this track for the first time in ages today (I'm currently going through the albums/ep's chronologically), I'd almost forgotten about it, but it was immediately vaulted to the top of my ae tracklist. What a fucking belter.
  3. Well, you know how it is with the internet -- depends where you look: https://www.reddit.com/r/aphextwin/comments/3vuq7t/aphex_twin_albums_ranked/ https://www.reddit.com/r/aphextwin/comments/9oo4x6/rank_the_aphex_twin_lps_from_worst_to_best/ https://www.reddit.com/r/aphextwin/comments/elljuh/ranking_aphex_twin_albums/https://www.reddit.com/r/aphextwin/comments/7wlrcu/ranking_the_albums_under_aphex_twin/ https://rateyourmusic.com/list/FatherMcKenzie/aphex_twin_albums_ranked/ https://www.albumoftheyear.org/user/okcomputer12127/list/7431/aphex-twin-best-to-worst/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bu-vm_iqHoE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QePRU3KogO8 In general, I would challenge the notion that "saw1 is more often considered better than saw2". I guess we could both dig up much more evidence for either of our cases, but that's kind of pointless, isn't it? My gut feeling/memory tells me that SAW2 gets far more mentions when it comes to cornerstones of electronic music (it also has its own volume in the 33 1/3 book series), but seriously debating that is a bit geeky even for my already low standards. Perhaps we can just agree that it is an incredible album. It is also my personal favorite after Syro.
  4. Really? I don't see it mentioned nearly as often as SAW2, ICBYD or Drukqs. As I said, I think the problem is that it was overshadowed by its "successor". But maybe that's just me. ?
  5. I like how the "ae" is placed smack dab in the middle of that cum drop.
  6. So, what about that underfloor heating, huh?

  8. Oh no, absolutely, and I was just mocking those poor souls that are falling for it like it's domino day.
  9. To be fair, liking a post from some random forum member about a vocal on a 15 year old album only qualifies as 'sending people on a wild-goose chase" if said people are very, very desperate ...
  10. The day I follow dingformung on a wet deck -- that day, I cut my throat, sailor.
  11. I hated that one. Talk about pretentious ... I barely made it through, and all I remember is how godawful the dialogues were and how much I detested it.
  12. Fires in California probably I'm in the same boat as you. Not big on social media, moved to another city hours from home, where my friends still live, and started working as a freelancer = not much social interaction. Wifey and kiddo keep me sane (and drive me insane at the same time). My big plan plan is to pick up ping pong and/or archery as a hobby to meet some people around here.
  13. No worries, it's the thought that counts! Ah, I get it, I get it! How Good Are They Really! ?? So Aphex Twin is better than Stevie Wonder, but not as good as Marvin Gaye. Well, waddayaknow ... This concept of slapping some random number on an artist's whole oeuvre strikes me as a bit absurd tbh. Also, a forum that rates Aphex Twin a mere 4.18 is clearly not deserving of the mighty badger. Edit: On the other hand, it's not that hard really and actually kind of fun. Aphex Twin: 5 NIN: 4 Iron Maiden: 3 Arctic Monkeys: 2 No Doubt: 1
  14. Thanks for posting, but goddamn, that's cringey.
