  1. We doin' TV shows now? Game of Thrones
  2. Apparently, Swiss is the first to get hit by a second wave. https://www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/schweiz-coronavirus-corona-1.4954939 (Couldn't find any articles in English yet.)
  3. Honestly, as a European, it's nothing short of surreal to see all these pics and videos of private citizens waving firearms in each other's faces. It's totally unfathomable. Can't even begin to wrap my head around it.
  4. Whoah, easy, tiger; believe me, a life isn't ruined that quickly. Like everyone else here, I don't know you IRL, so it might be hard for us to really help you, but let me just say that at least in this forum, you always seemed like a nice enough fella to me. Always enjoyed your posts and such. Just try to sit this damn covid thing out, find something worthwile and enjoyable to do to keep you busy, be it diecast cars or whatever, and try to focus on the time after when you can continue therapy. There will be a life after this. I also like SpongeBob and Marblelympics, btw. Have thought about making a thread for the latter when it broke through, but I kept forgetting, and now I'm not sure if it's still worthwhile; but it is oddly captivating and an absolutely asshole-free sport, which is a sensation in and of itself.
  5. Lego Art feat. The Beatles, Iron Man, Marilyn Monroe, and Star Wars Sith revealed: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2020/07/01/lego-art-revealed-as-mosaics-of-the-beatles-marilyn-monroe-star-wars-sith-and-iron-man-news/ Man, four Warhol Marilyns would be sweet, but price is kind of prohibitive. And yet ...
  6. Lel. This reminds of the day Wim Wenders came to my uni to watch some amateurish music videos we had made (God bless him) and talk about his own work in music videos (of which he had done several for groups like U2 or Eels), and the first question someone in the first row asked was: "Have you ever thought about making a music video yourself?" Talk about breaking the ice, lol. He took it like a champ though. Edit: But the professor was mortified.
  7. I don't think San Diego Karen has been posted before. Man, this shit is so fucked up on so many levels. https://heavy.com/news/2020/06/amber-lynn-gilles-san-diego-karen/
  8. Cool, that makes me want to dig for the old issues in the badement myself. As I said, no money back guarantee from me, but let me know what you think when you got it.
  9. I just relistened to Dubnobasswithmyheadman, and I had totally forgotten how good it was because when Second Toughest ... came out, it was like the album I had always been waiting for and kind of eclipsed its predecessor. But man, what an album. Immediately bought he box sets of both which I had somehow missed when they came out.
  10. I used to love both of those and also liked Johnny the Homicidal Maniac from the same era, but I haven't reread it since, so no idea how it holds up. Garth Ennis's run on Demon was fun as well. Lobo if you're into mindless violence for a laugh. Calvin & Hobbes is supposed to be good too.
  11. Seinfeld's gonna be an official Lego set: https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/fe963822-d1c7-4abb-b961-2b0885a221ce Pretty, pretty, pretty cool ... Meanwhile, Daft Punk Pyramid really won the Music In Our Ears contest, but it's still in review, so no word as of yet if it will actually go into production. https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/2f1c5353-7911-4f2b-9641-b4ea70b883f3
  12. I just rewatched that too the other day. Didn't make the connection myself, but now that you mention it ... The book is terrific! Really lovingly made with lots of anecdotes and a heap of great pics as well.
  13. I haven't rewatched it, but I hated S02 too. Pacing felt way off, like they were permanently retarding for the sake of retarding and then suddenly rushing the finale, which had some cringey stuff too, as far as I remember. Just not a lot going on at all until the last episode or so. And man, I hated fucking Emo Eleven so fucking much. S03 was better, maybe my favorite so far, but all in all I find the whole show quite middling and not really deserving of the hype. The humor is not exactly my cup of tea either, a bit too mainstream/forced I guess. The nostalgic side of it is somewhat nice, but wears off quickly, and there's just not a lot of substance under it IMO. There's worse things to watch, I guess, but I just don't get excited over it and don't really see what the fuss is about. It's... okayish? It also made me realize what an incredibly shitty actress Winona Ryder is. Never noticed when I was younger, or maybe she just wasn't as bad. But she sure is bad now. Man, so bad. Yeah, maybe I'm just too old or just have seen better, dunno. I remember kind of liking Super 8 though, but not why.

  15. That's pretty much the gist of all the reviews I've read; they all make a point of mentioning how brutal it is -- and that it's great! Looking forward to it, but I'm replaying Part 1, and I'm notoriously slow, so it will be another couple of weeks probably. It's a bit scary how much I've actually forgotten -- but it has been seven years after all.
  16. New Polypores on blue vinyl available for pre-order. "Originally released (and sold out) via Castles in Space, Azure comes in a deluxe azure blue vinyl pressing in a full gloss varnished sleeve and foldback tabs. The album creates a luxurious contemporary new age soundscape invoking the Californian New Age cassette boom of the late 70's and early 80's.The LP includes a beautiful art print designed by the sleeve designer, Nick Taylor. French comic book legend Moebius was an inspiration for Nick in parallel with his immersion in the irresistible cosmic ocean flow of the music. The album's energy center is said to open access to parallel universes and lives; it gives access to the realm of modular synthesis in Preston, Lancashire and the sphere of potentialities in the making." It's already sold out on Bandcamp, but Bleep has some copies left: https://bleep.com/release/191560-polypores-azure
  17. Shoddy internet connection. Fucking bane of my existence.
  18. The two lowemost keys on each side of Samsung's virtual keyboard are suddenly GREY after the latest software update, and it's incredibly distracting. Caps lock looks like it's permanently activated this way, and my eyes constantly wander to the corners because of the highlighted keys. It drives me insane. I hate it, oh I hate it so much. Why, Samsung, why?
  19. BTW, some nice mudslinging ITT; jeez, those troglodytes from six years ago.
  20. New GAS track "Zeit" available for exclusive download on Kompakt https://kompakt.fm/releases/zeit?utm_source=Shop+News&utm_campaign=063f12a766-20200617_downloads&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0523bb80b8-063f12a766-196499721&mc_cid=063f12a766&mc_eid=08711e909d
