  1. I had to replace my beloved but out of warranty monitoring amplifier (Amphion Amp 100). Its right channel amp fried. The spare module not being produced nor sold any longer (I could have bought one for 3x its original 150€ retail price... :S), I went for a similar amp. I want the sound of my monitors to remain the same. Still a class D amp, much, much more power, newer design, one stereo module instead of 2 monos (not sure how much of a difference it makes TBH) : I'm testing a Hypex NCore252MP based amp by Audiophonics. Costs the same as the aforementioned spare part. Can't A/B both amps properly, but first impressions are super positive : ridiculously tiny, tiny differences, like 2/3% more extended in both low and high ends of the spectrum, infinitesimally clearer in the low mids but maybe less mid-focused. That's the only potential downside here : with the Amp 100, the One 15s are stunning to get that aera right effortlessly. Both amps are equally as fast when it comes to transient response. Which is marvelous really :)
  2. I have IG/FB/Twitter accounts I solely use for promotion and work. I post as little as possible. I hate it all.
  3. With FM ? Not close enough to my liking. With Razor ? Nailed it.
  4. Fuck, I had no clue BARKER001 got a digital release ! Grabbing both now. By the way... does it mean an LP is right around the corner ?
  5. I was on mu forum too (not sure about .net, can't remember) but didn't post much though. Welcome !
  6. It really depends on the purpose : sheer marketing to recash on old material, stupid loudness war or finally offering a proper mastering to a musical piece. But I hear you 100%, most of times I don’t want a record I’ve loved for a while to sound any different. There are some exceptions though : restored / remixed Whooshkie would drive me nuts. I’ve yet to dare listening to that 1st extract, Theme from Ernest Borgnine being one of my favorite tunes ever. Sames goes for Tundra. Because of Tom maybe ? As far as we can tell, he’s been sitting on some of his best material ever (Warp20 anyone ?) for almost two decades, yet to be released. Rather than new techniques / tools / process, it might be the fidelity of the new capture from the original DATs that might make a significant difference here. Mastering engineers already knew their craft in the 90’s ;) Of course DSP has improved a billion times since then.
  7. Tango all the way. But eh, I'd be delighted with something as timeless as Lunatic Harness or Brace Yourself EP.
  8. Juan pls. I need that tune.
  9. Additive synthesis most likely for all these recent releases. 2000~ SND is certainly FM though. You can get close-ish with FM, but it’s effortless with a synth like Razor or Harmor. With FM I’ve yet to nail that hyper-sharpness / definition. I’m all ears if anyone has cracked the code ;)
  10. If you climb up current computer music's genealogy, SND / Mark Fell are milestones. Super influential definitely. Just like Aphex with braindance, or Juan Atkins with techno.
  11. Too bad there are so few additive synths available though, it’s hard not to sound like Gabor Lazar when using Razor / Lazerbass.
  12. Computer music ? Not taking the piss, that's actually how I refer to it (and I've been obsessed with all its nuances for a little while now). Regarding labels, Conditional, Superpang, Editions Mego, UIQ, OOH Sounds, CODEPENDENT, PAN... come to mind. Fascinating stuff to discover ;)
  13. Purchased his 2 most recent Editions Mego LPs this morning, I had a blast playing the flacs on the Amphions. Great stuff indeed.
  14. Fantastic tip, I do it all the time, quite often in M/S.u ps: if you still want to reverberate some lows / highs, shelves work wonderfully well there.
  15. Kindohm, Gabor Lazar, early Errorsmith...
  16. Right up my alley it seems. Super soon on Diagonal’s Bandcamp hopefully ?
  17. In software land, aside from the excellent Valhalla plugins (I especially like Vintage Verb, though Supermassive is a great gateway), I swear by Relab Development Sonsig A, which sounds lush AF and sits in the mix effortlessly. I now use it 99% of times. FWIW they run frequent discounts. Whenever I need a gritty, grainy, characterful reverb I go for Megaverb though. I love it. Finally, Live11's native new Hybrid reverb is significantly better than the awful old one.
  18. I used to listen to that LP on repeat (same goes for Simply Funk). Such a talented chap.
  19. Watched On becoming a God in Central Florida and quite liked it. Kirsten Dunst sure knows how to act, and all the Ponzi scam is quite fascinating. About to finish Devs, one episode left. What a stunning mini-series really. Great storytelling and photography, a bunch of proper mindfucks, and Nick Offerman is absolutely amazing. On a much lighter note, binging Superstore. Makes me laugh a lot, and it gets more cringey and cynical as seasons go (which I didn’t expect).
  20. Rewire Festival Massively looking forward to seeing Aisha Devi live again. Even if virtually.
