  1. Stunning artwork by the one and only @oscillik. The prints look phenomenal ;) And the music is beyond incredible, really.
  2. https://calumgunn.bandcamp.com/album/excessive-step Preview (the first 90 seconds of each track) : Calum Gunn is a Scottish electronic musician and programmer based in Berlin, Germany. His sonic recordings and performances (as well as his label Conditional) are legendary, and we are beyond proud and excited to be able to release his tunes on 3OP. Excessive Step is of the most exciting albums I've listened to in recent memory, and we sense it's a classic in the making. Experimental, yet accessible. Emotive and contemplative, but never really nostalgic. Crisp, digital, modern: very much computer music, yet quite organic and human as well. The sonic symbiosis of human and machine in realtime. A kind of cybernetic perfection. On the surface, this is a wicked collection of pure bangers, Tidal Cycles based jams, and DJ applications. But we are confident you'll find this this to be a tantalizing and very cohesive album experience, filled with adventure and character. It's futuristic electro, yet we've found that Excessive Step has a timelessness to it. We hope you enjoy this sonic journey as much as we have over the last few months of many, many listens. I feel lucky to have had this in my playlist up to now. It really is so much FUN to listen to. -E Written and Performed by Calum Gunn Mastered by Nil Hartman Artwork by Andrew Bates Absolute belter of an LP, a future classic IMO.

    Dune

Imagine if the music had been made by Magma and Pink Floyd... Haven't seen the movie yet, would love to though and hopefully will super soon.
  5. The 3 Chipsynths (MD, PortaFM and OPS7) by Plogue ooze attitude and sound fantastic. Still, Bazille by u-he is my very favorite (FM) synth : the way you can blend Yamaha FM (phase modulation) and Casio phase distorsion is beyond stellar. So many tricks up its sleeve, and such a gloriously lush tone. FM8 is just plain boring.
  6. I’d love a club æ record.
  7. I see that Partials slider : additive ?
  8. (same track as Blir, with super cool Lissajous visuals)

  11. I like his previous work, I’ll check it. Thanks for the heads up !
  12. also, Fluidity Archive edition is sold out. You can still buy the digital version !
  13. Yes, out now !!! It sounds (and looks) phenomenal. Fluidity is a an astonishing grower.
  14. Can’t wait to check the previews, new Alva Noto is always welcome ! The artwork looks phenomenal.
  15. Just like with Core Alter's fantastic m-Realizable, Fluidity will be available in hi-res digital files and limited USB archive edition. Oh and it's beyond incredible, my fav WF release to date. Yes, I'm 100% biased here.
  16. I’ve replaced most HPFs by low-shelves. It puts low freqs in the back of the scene rather than suppressing them, it sounds better to my ears most of times. Also : 3 or 4 bands is often all you need. think all the filters of your EQ as a whole M/S EQing is super fun and sonically impactful
  17. Rather than boosting then cutting, I'd suggest to directly cut, drastically if needed, then to adjust the gain and Q. I find it much, much more useful as you directly hear the room you create.
  18. Random thoughts : Listen in context and react. Adjust several instruments / EQ instances at the same time. Secure the low end first (usually it opens up everything else) Shelves are often much more musical and useful than HPF/LPF EQ notes : make room for that D#4, put that harmony in the foreground etc... Boosting is super fun Rebalance rather than correct Close your eyes Ignore all that and trust your guts Also, I've been testing navigating the spectum following http://www.balancemastering.com/finishingtracks/how-to-tutorial-significance-of-632Hz-part-2/ and it's incredibly fast and musical.
