  1. @modey if you don't mind, I have a few of questions ;) aside from the Quick Start Guide, is a manual already available ? you said it's "the most detailed hardware sequencer [you] own" (awesome !!) : can the M8 do anything remotly like note probability / conditional triggers ? Not a deal breaker at all obviously, but once used to working with those... have you tried to hook it to a computer, be it with audio or MIDI ? Or other bits of gear ? Genuinely curious on how it works and what it can (and can't) do. do you know if the dev is open to reasonable feature requests ? If not already implemented, Link comes to mind. Anyway, I'm thrilled and super impatient to get mine. As I said in the GAS thread, a M8 and an iPad with a nice synth could be an insanely fun, super compact / ultra portable and equally as inspiring alternative set-up for me.
  2. In between two naps, Siam (now 17)
  3. Haver you guys seen that : https://modo.sc/id700/ ? https://cdm.link/2021/04/id700-for-ipad-reboots-the-1987-buchla-700-fm-waveshaping-and-polyphony-hands-on/ I've been given an early Ipad Mini, if I can run ID700 on it then it'll be a great *studio B* set-up along with the M8. Hopefully it'll get ported to VST too.
  4. Preordered. Really looking forward to playing with its FM engine and Braids port. And to writing music away from the computer. Not being a trackerhead myself (even if I’ve enjoyed using Renoise every now and then), I bet I’ll come with different ideas too.
  5. I've just preordered one. The aim is to have a self-contained electronic instruments that isn't my computer nor a tablet or my phone, that I can carry with me, and hopefully to sketch tracks. The FM engine seems tasty too.
  6. Instant purchase obviously.

    Rescan...

Oh yes please. Without the live bass-playing on top : not that it’s not great, I just dream of the studio versions. Even a vinyl rip of the infamous white label would be beyond incredible. His very best material IMO w/ Go Plastic. Btw, weren’t these tunes rumored to be released by Rephlex / MEN ?

The only TJ’s vinyle I have is Whooshki. The only >[] LP I need is Methyl Orange / Rave n bass archives.

The whole Warp20/Sheffield archive Tom pls.
  10. OOH is a super promising label, getting better with each and every release. I’ve yet to listen to that one though, thanks for the reminder.
  11. I've been stuck at ~ 140 for the last couple of years, it's quiet a flexible bpm, I like it a lot. As usual, it all depends on how you fill (or not) the bar, if you go for obvious 4/4 or not etc. For instance Beatrice Dilon's Workaround LP is locked at 150, and yet it often feels like it's not.
  12. Never tried so I’m not sure either. Instead of the Crossfader, using a couple of Velocity devices (one per « device less » MIDI track) and some MIDI / kb mapping should work. Quite similar to what you’ve described already.
  13. What about setting 2 empty MIDI tracks (each playing a clip) which outputs are routed to a 3rd MIDI track (with all the instruments and effects you need), and using Live’s built-in Crossfader to blend both to taste ? I don’t know if it’ll work (can’t test it now) but that could do the trick.
  14. My wife's getting her first Pfizer shot on Saturday : she's due late June so she's eligible for vaccination. I have no clue when I'll be though.
  15. A while ago. Sounded good (especially the Buchla modules) but didn't like the workflow.
  16. Re: speedmemories : these 30/40 seconds, starting at the 1 minute mark, are so freaking massive. Huge.
  17. Me three. I'd rather listen to Soundhack or Barker than Amorama (no matter how nicely executed) :the French Touch indebted sound palette doesn't do it for me. I much prefer the EPs
  18. So is Malory Archer. RIP.
  19. I liked the show quite a lot. A weird one indeed.
  20. Same, even though I haven’t listened to such tunes in ages.
  21. Nice ! Tidal-like rhythmc sequencing into a M4L device :)
  22. Push's learning curve is gentle and quick I'll add. @user : would you share a pic of your setup please ? Thx !
