Nice clutter free no stressing setup Ryan. I'm pretty sure there is a law that says you can't listen to Meshuggah inspired metal with a Strat on your wall. (haah I really dig Telecasters but think Jimi is the only cat to ever make a Stratocaster look super bad ass) *facepalm* @ the Kiss branded lava lamp (and the excessive lava lamping in general) haha

You ever think about getting the cork pads inserts for your MPD to increase sensitivity from the sensor to pad? I'm thinking about it but I kinda like how you have to beat the shit out of them.

lol at half your reply. i just got the strat actually, was a toss up between a decent all around guitar or a metal-specific Ibanez I was also looking at... as for the lava lamp fetish, the kiss and bob marley ones were the only ones i could get my hands on locally in those colours, thinking about painting them though.

about the mpd pads, i actually got them and hated them. i put them in and it made it too sensitive, like you would hit one pad and it would trigger 5 others ones just from the vibrations going through the entire enclosure. took them out and tossed them. i know what you mean though, for certain types of music it's kinda awesome how deliberate you have to be with them. but then other times if you are rocking out acoustic drums you want more responsiveness. i don't know if you can see in the pics or video, but i've got a Korg PadKontrol to the right of the APC40 for those times I want it to be more sensitive. i'm not completely satisfied with the current drum pad market, I haven't tried a Maschine controller maybe they are decent? i just like the note repeat and 16-velocity functions of the MPD26 so much, as well as the bigger pads.

Lava lamps are awesome. I need to have mine shipped up here to put in my music room. Strats are awesome too, every guitar player should have a good one in their arsenal.

What program(s) are you using to sequence on the Atari?

sequencer +1

it's very nice for loops, because numbers 1-9 on the keyboard can mute midi tracks.

it's no good for sysex changes

where did you get the atari st vga cable? hi resolution is black and white only isn't it?

Thanks for letting me know those cork pads are too ridiculous Ryan, I definitely ain't wasting 30 bucks on them for both of my MPDs now, speaking of. LOL I finally got my MPD exactly where I want it until I build my workstation/aircraft carrier and put it on rails or a detachable mount. Don't miss those middle keys that much so far yet (still got some 60 fully weighted keys for my enjoyment)

where did you get the atari st vga cable? hi resolution is black and white only isn't it?

I got it off eBay for next to nothing, it works great. There are a few on there right now, but they are BIN only.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Atari-ST-STE-high-res-monitor-VGA-cable-adaptor-cubase-/150573904924?pt=UK_VintageComputing_RL&hash=item230ee7741c#ht_1373wt_1139

I can't remember if the cable supports anything other than the hi-rez setting, but Cubase only runs on the black and white high resolution setting, so it doesn't make a difference for me.

I'm not familiar with that one, sounds nice for live jamming out ideas. Does it require a dongle like Cubase and whatnot or can I just slap it on a floppy if I can find it?

Couldn't get everything in one shot, but you get the idea. Its a bit of an old pic. Had a small move about since taking it to make space for a few more bits and some treatment too.

Love it.

hey. it's working good. I've only had it for a month or so, so I'm still getting my head around where all the parameters are stored in which bank etc. just have the manual by your side and it should be easy enough.
