Augmatic Disport

Is it just me, or is the ending of Augmatic Disport really weird. Here it is, smack dab in the middle of an album of seamless, perfected transitions, and it ends with a super simple drum beat that just fades in. wtf? Has Autechre ever just... faded something in like that before?

If I'm paying close attention to it, it really bugs me, but if I'm focusing on something else then I it has a super reflective, emotional effect. Whatch'all think of that transition?

There's a subtle effect that gives me the feeling that the simple beat is derived from the granulation some how, so it's not like it just fades in under the madness, it's more like it's a product of it (even if that really isn't the case).

It was the last track to really grow on me. Except for Iera, that one just didn't go anywhere for it to do any "growing." Kind of frustrating, too, because it seems very easy for it to develop further near the end, but it hits a wall instead.

Man I love Iera, Fermium was the track that I used to think never went anywhere. I like it a little more now though.

Yea though, Ae rarely does fade outs. The last song on Amber fades out. And left Blank off of Ep7 sorta fades out with a simpler beat, sorta.

The beats at the end of Augmatic Disport are the least weird music Autechre has done since 1995.

Exactly! Isn't that weird?

So, it's not just me whose noticed that bit. Granulation? I know what granular synthesis is, but how could you make a 2 bar repeating drum loop out of the grains of the breakdown in Augmatic Disport? Either I don't know what I'm talking about, or you're having autechre-induced hallucinations.

In conclusion, Untilted fucking rocks!

I love that bit at the end of the tune.....they prolong that bit for a few minutes in the untilted set before it goes in to LCC.

They do?

asym head really likes it...

word up! it's not my fav autechre track... but it's my fav autechre moment... especially driving and listening to it full blast... then those hip hop beats and bass kick in and all that is left from the beginning of the track starts to deminish slowly...

AWESOME YO!

i find this is how all of untilted plays. these bang on chaotic beginnings that are a reverse of lets says lenetic catarchraris. if you notice ipacial section starts off with a load of complete shit and dwindles down to a trickle. LCC also slows down near the end. a good chunk of this album is based on 'slow downs' unlike most commonly anticipated gradual increases of mind kung fuckery its mirrored, which i find quite interesting. ofcourse there are exceptions, not evey track follows this theory, but then it is an AE album we are talking about here, they rewire the whole god damn studio for each fukcing track!@

The ending of Fermium is so nostalgic because this sounds like the air heater that used to be in my bedroom, which I enjoyed to hear. This is a pure personal and magical moment to me.

That's very interesting. Sublimit definitely follows slows down a lot.

That's the best reason to like autechre ever.
