compilation idea - let's do our own version of warp20 (recreated)

Excellent idea, but I would extend it to warp plus featured artists, so maybe rephlex too. Watmm covers should be a separate project.

hmm, maybe two 'discs'? first disc: our covers of warp/rephlex/idm tracks, second disc: our covers of watmm artists' tracks.

 

unfortunately i don't have the whoring skills to pull this off as efficiently as say, fred mcgriff or similar, anyone want to lend a hand with organising?

Even if we all love rephlex I think warp is enough work. And wasn't the concept supposed to be our "own" recreated? Let show those mutherfucka what we are able to do.

This is a great idea! I think I would be more up for a WATMM recreated personally(as I like more WATMM music than the Warp stuff...*runs and hides*).

But if majority rules then I would still like a go at a warp one.

The Warp covers would be good fun, and would tie in with the 20th anniversary etc. You could do a Rephlex/WATMM covers one whenever they have their 20th anniversary.

this is a sweet idea. i voted warp/rephlex - there's already quite a catalogue of various watmm compilations, and i think most people would prefer to hear people's take on classics/stuff they're more likely to know. on a creative front there's a stronger frame of reference which might facilitate more stylistic deviance?

when do you guys want the deadline to be? i'm thinking considering it's going to be covers/re-creations rather than remixes, and since most of us will do two tracks for it, maybe march next year? is that too far away?

 

as soon as we decide on a deadline i'll post a "call for submissions" thread. i'm thinking we should keep all submissions secret just like the futonic compilations, so it'll be nice and hard hitting once it's done.
