Unlike gay ass brits, who temper their enthusiasm for the sake of appearing stoic and composed, Americans unabashedly display even their strongest feelings like a seasonal window display. When we hate something, we take to the streets (internet). When we fear something, we develop color coded indices to gage the appropriate level of hysteria. When we don't understand something, we scream and yell about it anyway as if we were experts on the subject. Nobody loves like an American. When we love something, our fervor reaches its most extreme, with capillaries bursting, vocal chords straining, and bumper stickers bedazzling. Guest fiznuthian Posted January 7, 2011 Share Posted January 7, 2011 well, i was being satirical with that but i agree with you. americans that spout that garbage get on my nerves.. we kindof all live sheltered lives that keep us from the anguish that most of the poorer world endures to survive.. gives people the sense of "being free" but even still we're really not. unless we're talking urban police, most police forces just ram dumbfuck laws down citizen's throats and punish people arbitrarily to meet quotas. and good point, corporations do control most of our lives. and yet they tend to stomp on human rights, the environment, safety laws, etc without any conscience just to make profits. and there's billboards everywhere you drive suggesting what to spend money on, almost always something i don't need like mcdonalds, jewelry, or greedy TV lawyers. but i dunno.. does seem like whining to nitpick, least i'm not starving or suffering all that much.. as a middle class american i enjoy the internet, electronics, a decent car, decent home, good food, whatever.
