Microsoft Corp. today announced a new offer for students who purchase a new Windows 7-based PC. Starting May 22, students buying a new Windows 7-based PC priced at $699 (U.S.) or more will also get a free Xbox 360 4GB console.

Sounds like MS just has some stock backing up, and it's cheaper to give it away then harbour it in warehouses... makes good business sense (not to mention if any of those gets a Live subscription, MS will make it's money back pretty quick)

not really. as a very long time PS fan, im incredibly pissed about the security breach. but the games and the systems themselves have given me a lot of fun and enjoyment in the past decade or so. since I was accustomed to the original PS and PS2, it was natural that I purchased a PS3 expecting the same level of quality in entertainment. Im not saying anything about XBOX, and I hope you can now rest assured that your anger is a little over the top.
