16 competitors remain.

The top 2 seeds, Abandoned cities and Factories at night, are still in the game, winning easy victories over Owls and Caves respectively.

Autism and Masturbating furiously, which both had strong fan support, lost last round. We have yet to see who their fans will mobilize behind.

Slime molds and Huge machinery both overtook their competitors after initially falling behind.

The brackets can be viewed here: http://www.bracketmaker.com/tlist.cfm?tid=424823

Voting in this round ends April 1st, around 10-11 Vancouver time.

I'm so happy Slime Molds won!

I think Bioluminescent trees are going to have it rough in this bracket.

We're only at 19 votes, bro. Don't put on your patines in a rush, now.

I meant I was happy that Slime Molds won against MSPaint.

And I'm just saying bioluminescent trees will have it rough because "Being Socially Awkward and Uncomfortable" is pretty popular in general.

I don't see Bioluminescent trees making it through this round, but we'll have to see.

It's looking like Infinity might take down the number one seed.

Also, in case this wasn't obvious, I'm probably going to extend this round until watmm is fixed, and a decent number of folks have voted.

wow, that was easy and for a change i really like most of these semifinalists (although - shame, strandbeest and autism killers!)

1) abandoned cities (well, both of these options are bad, but infinity is boring, particularly so when as inspiration for music)

2) bioluminescent trees

3) slime molds

4) now this one is tough. On the one hand, I'm a big supporter of ice water with ice. On the other hand, I think terraforming planets has so many more possibilities, musically. So I had to go with terraforming, forgive me Iain C.

5) space stations, no contest

6) gaarg

7) quantum foam, have no idea what it is but I imagine a bubbly, interstellar comp coming out of this one

8) SPISH. I know incomplete skyscrapers had everyone's panties wet this year, but SPISH is one of my all-time faves. IDM has surely fully explored it's adolescent, angsty phase (come to daddy, confield, ect) - isn't it time for a collection of confident, mature, but still forward looking tunes? The bossa nova of IDM, stylish and refined? The kind that can experience the end of "2001" and then turn towards the camera with a sly wink and say "I get it man, I get it"

I submitted Terraforming Planets so that's mah horse now.

I also said Being Socially Awkward but I have no idea what a compilation for that would be like. Probably either really emo or over the top goofy.
