Went to the gym today & nofapped for 30 minutes straight & 10 minutes gay. man it was tough

by the end of it i was covered in sweat shaking, pissed myself a bit. but I felt like a true alpha male. my arms were like two girthy sides of frozen pork

combined with noshave, nosleep, & nofart, I am convinced I will become a true urban caveman in mere weeks

I dunno, a quick browse in those forums seems to reveal men with other problems that are getting pinned on "no porn" as a panacea. The problem is that erectile dysfunction has myriad causes and some posters talking about "numb" testicles and other paresthesias sound more like a psychosomatic expression of anxiety or depression.

If pr0n and hyperwank are truly the problem, by all means, banish it the best you can but these are frequently proxies for more complex problems imo.

Yeah I don't know about that stuff either.. I definitely feel less anxious, and more apt to just converse with girls.

I guess that stuff should be obvious though, seeing how porn probably conditions our male brain to see every girl as a potential meat hole for our penis.

i'd like to think, that in avoiding internet porno (the new age hardcore stuff) - soft-core images of lovely ladies nude, or vintage/retro porn films are OK, rather, a better substitution to view when one must relieve themselves.... :watmm:

I watched it and i felt really bad about how much i watch but i realize that it really isnt a problem. All i see are pictures, solo masturbation scene, and amateur couples. Im really not into hardcore stuff, it doent turn me on. I dont see why admiring beautiful women is a bad thing. It makes me happy at the end of the day and it's a great stress reliever. Its not like i don't talk to women in real life or expect them to automatically want my dick. I'm motivated and don't fail at life. I know porn is a fantasy, what's wrong with fantasizing?

Although, ill still take a couple nights off from porn to see if there's a real transformation but i doubt anything will change, i just wont be as turned on when i jerk it

Well, not going into details here but just a reminder:

take a masturbation break for a while and you better be prepared to clean up after yourself. watch your aim, gentlemen.

speaking from personal experience here, that sucked.

There's nothing wrong with fantasizing, I think you're missing the point. The issue is the neurobiological consequences that have a hugely detrimental effects on many important aspects of our life.

the problem is doing your fantasising through electronic/online media. listen to the science in the first video. the danger is in constant immediate pleasure-seeking which (chemically) numbs your reactions over time and puts you at risk of becoming apathetic in other spheres of your life. he's talking specifically about the internets.

maybe that is good though

like how people act queazy about slaughterhouses and eating meat, because theyve never had to deal with dead animals or killing animals in real life. perhaps the more emotional people have not had experiences that they should have

Well, I have been a heavy porn user since I was a young kid and I admit I felt very much like the target group for this lecture. I have been watching porn I don't even like just to get off sometimes and it made me dislike myself.

Can porn make men less likely to be affectionate in bed with women?

I don't know. What I do know is that I can fuck forever without cumming. Not good.

lol, love the song.

Ouch, cringed a bit watching that. Nice videos though I guess, he's being helpful for people struggling.
My only complaint with the nofap crowd is using terms like "relapse".

I can understand why not jerking off is useful for a good old fashioned testosterone lift but is going a week and then getting off really that terrible?

Are we to conclude pedophiles and people sucking horse cock are a product of porn? Seems people's ability to imagine their fantasies knows no limit and stems from other causes. Porn in of itself is just a symptom and stress reliever and until we can determine the causes of sexual abuse/rape the optimal solution in the future seems to be virtual reality fantasies (aka a complete replacement of sex that limits population growth/rape). Same idea with violent video games which have shown to decrease violence. I know I have disagreed with Awepittance about the need to hate things, but that also is cathartic and while I would prefer people avoiding spreading hate on the internet and doing it in their head, I understand why it exists.

Everyone can imagine weird/disturbing sexual stuff, so while an attempt to surpress this might sound moral, ultimately it does nothing to "cure" them of these thoughts. In regards to kids growing up with the Internet, I think the main solution is good parenting that way when kids do come across hardcore porn they understand it better. Mystifying it and trying to raise your kids in ignorance is why we have many problems with young teenagers turning to booze and harder drugs in America. While Europeans grow up with alcohol in a more relaxed and up-front manner.

Some of watmms ms paint stuff could be classified as extremely disturbing/immoral, yet I don't make any judgements on the person behind them. It's just having a laugh. aka stress reliever. Yet some arguments here would have us to believe these thoughts are polluting the mind and making one accept these depictions as morally correct.

Masturbation has always been a catchphrase for any sort of immature self-involved activity (eg., mental masturbation). It's basically commonly accepted that excessive masturbation retards an individual's drive to make real relationships with members of the opposite sex. This isn't news.

That said I am interested with how excessive sex - real or fapped - affects the human brain. I think it does. If you look at the average male porn star and compare their early with late "performances", I think you'll often see they become less engaged, their eyes become a bit glassy and sunken, and they start to mumble rather than speak coherently. I don't think this is just due to on-set coke use - I do believe continual triggering of the pleasure response has a weird effect on the human brain. It could very much be how they describe it in this video. The problem is I think these videos differentiate too much between fapping and "real sex". I think an excess of both (in the absence of love) has the same result, and it doesn't surprise me that it's no physiologically different from drug use.

In my experience the sex drive ebbs and flows - the less you get the more you fap, but the more you get also increases your sex drive. Nevertheless, I've never seen a "sex addict" who forgets to eat. Everything in moderation yo.

Masturbation in itself isn't the problem. It's the addiction the unnatural dopamine hits you get from excessive porn use, and the escalation in what you're looking at so that you keep getting better hits. That's why some people end up looking at porn that they otherwise wouldn't be into. It's like getting harder drugs. And your brain doesn't know the difference between drugs, porn, compulsive gambling, or just risk taking behavior. But porn is much easier to gain access to. It's right there on your laptop a couple clicks away. When you get your fixes, you won't look for them elswhere in your life, leading to complacency, lack of drive, sexual or otherwise. When I read biographies of completely epic historical figures from 50 or 100 years ago, they didn't have this contant overstimulation around them. Not just from internet porn, but the media and overabundance of distractions we have available to us today. Not trying to make broad statements here, but you can imagine.
