8th MOST IDM Tournament: Brainstorming

Recommended Posts

It's that time of year again. Time to brainstorm candidates for the 8th MOST IDM tournament.

If any new members are unfamiliar with this tournament, here's a brief description: We brainstorm stuff that we think is IDM. The top 64 will go in a bracketology. The winner is dubbed the MOST IDM until the next tournament (the tournaments are usually annual). Traditionally, we then do a tribute album to the winner.

Tentative schedule (I reserve the right to change this a bit if need be):

March 14th: Deadline for brainstorming.

March 17th: Deadline for free-voting on the brainstormed ideas.

March 19th: Deadline for voting on the top 64.

March 21st: Deadline for voting on the top 32.

March 23rd: Deadline for voting on the sweet sixteen.

March 25th: Deadline for voting on the elite eight.

March 27th: Deadline for voting on the quarter finals.

March 29th: Deadline for voting on the semi-finals.

March 31st: Deadline for voting on the finals.

Note that all deadlines will be called in the evening (probably around 10), Vancouver time.

A brief history of IDM:

7th MOST IDM winner: The rogue planet named CFBDSIR_2149-0403 freely drifting in outer space after being ejected from orbit

6th MOST IDM winner: Incomplete Skyscrapers

5th MOST IDM winner: Nikola Tesla

4th MOST IDM winner: The Large Hadron Collider

3rd MOST IDM winner: Antarctica

2nd MOST IDM winner: Black Holes

1st MOST IDM winner: Beards (but Deep Sea Creatures wound up getting more attention for some reason)

Let the brainstorming begin!

To start it off, I'll submit these ideas:

Sitting down in the shower (an old favourite of mine that never got it's due)

Not owning a car

Bacon memories (Think about it. How many of your fondest memories involve bacon?)

Hats that don't make you look like a cowboy

She said "idm" AND "intelligent dance music" in the same sentence and then a watmmer played his tunes and talked about politics while wearing a shiny blue Freemason jacket. Simultaneously most IDM and most wattm newscast of this century at least. No hyperbole.

Troglofauna (animals found in caves):

No eyes and a lack of pigmented skin are useful adaptations for a life in perpetual darkness.
