Music Production Podcasts

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know of any good music production podcasts floating around the internet?

Specifically ones that focus on mixing techniques and electronic music.

Tried looking but it’s quite difficult sifting through all the debris.

That one episode of Ed DMX’s podcast where he made a track live.

I was going to recommend this, too. So good.

Yeah I’ve heard that one before, was hoping for like a series or something. Get to wear my headphones for most of my shift at work so always looking for informative stuff to listen to

The only one I listen to regularly is Darwin Grosse’s podcast. It’s not really what you are looking for probably, but features interesting chats with music hardware and software designers.

Posted (edited)

Sound + Process

Why We Bleep

Art + Music + Technology (this is the one Crossword mentioned^ with Darwin Grosse)

Ask.Audio Synth Stories

Strong Songs

RA Exchange (sometimes gets into production)

Sonicstate does a video/podcast, but mostly gear news and chat, though it selves into production at times.

All of these have pretty different approaches of course, and some episodes are definitely better than others, but all worth checking out.

Haven't extensively checked it out so dunno how much of it is actually mixing/techtalk but perhaps hanging out with audiophiles is worthwhile; https://soundcloud.com/user-113139207

I'm sure there are some good ones but you'd probably get more out of spending your time experimenting on the areas that interest/frustrate you.

He posts here? His recent album on Mego is fantastic, I am listening to it a lot.
