Youtube and kids

Why is it that almost all comments on youtube are made by children, or seemingly very immature people? If most of the people who use youtube are this age (below 15, for example) perhaps there should be more filtering/censorship as it's really easy to find nasty stuff on there.

they advertised and charged us uninformed brisbane queensland locals as viewing a collection of american impressionists and realists ... when it came to the show though ... i found myself reading descriptions that refused to place the artist geographically re: the exhibition title ... and why i asked .. were americans .. painting iconic australian image .. or did they have famous australian artistic surnames painting bits of france ... quickly one came to understand that only some small part of the exhibition contain that for which i had shelled out middling sheckles ... why yes i'll take a pass out even though i ain't come'in back .. as i have to work tonight …

So there's this girl that works part time at the same bar that I do, and I'm really into her. I was supposed to meet up with some friends last night across town but I bailed because she came in for some free drinks since it was her birthday. The band was all packed up [i do the audio there], and my shift was done, so I just wanted to chill and have a few beers with her. So everything is cool, and the bartender announces last call. Shortly thereafter some dude starts a fight like ten feet away. Glasses are getting knocked over and broken, so I jump up and start moving that shit so no one gets hurt on it [the guys were on the floor at this point]. Then this dude right n…

http://www.landoverbaptist.org/eastereggs.html "Pagan kids didn't have anything to do on Easter Sunday because their mommies and daddies were stuck in a false temple all day, naked and writhing around with their neighbors in Satanic orgies of the flesh. You see, parents had to come up with a way to occupy their children while they were away from home, praying and fornicating under the altar of Satan. And since they didn't have babysitters back then, they gave their kids eggs to play with and sometimes paint," he says. "But the reason they chose eggs had nothing to do with any sort of fertility or fertilizers (as some misguided Christian historians would have you believ…

i guess we have tetris, columns, puzzle bobble et al originally, and then much more importantly flash - and flash games particularly - for the rise and rise of games you can launch, play for ten minutes, and then quit whilst happy with the whole experience a couple of times a day. the rounds are usually short and the puzzles are easy but gratifying. the three i mentioned in the thread title are three of my favourite games of this type - i encountered the jacko zombies in PvZ last night and nearly pissed myself laughing. and crayon physics is barely a game - it's basically an ambience that makes you smile while giving you some puzzles to solve. the crack-ish nature of …

So here is a list of games which, over the last ten years, I bought and never finished. I not-finish games for various different reasons, be it that a game either got boring, or I got distracted by another game I bought while in the middle of the game I was playing, or some event came up where I couldn't play the game and then never regained the interest I had in it when I was capable of playing it again. Also, for a sizeable chunk of this decade I spent much of my time (too much of my time) in MMORPGs like EverQuest Online Adventures and EverQuest 2. I have since completely renounced MMORPGs from my life as they aren't really games... they're eternal item-fetching and…

Stumbling across the internet, I came across this blog post featuring Phineas Gage as the topic: http://scienceblogs.com/neurophilosophy/2009/07/meet_phineas_gage.php Relatively uninteresting because I'd already heard about him tons of times through discussions having to do with lobotomies. The interesting part came in a link within the comments: http://www.uncommondescent.com/intelligent-design/phineas-gage-evolution-of-a-lecture-room-psychopath/ When I started reading the comments on that post, I was appalled. I mean, ok, I was already appalled at the idea of an "intelligent design" community that uses the term "darwinist" accusingly, but shit like that (re…
