(Perks eyebrows up like a dog does its ears) It's available for pre-order on Amazon already? Word. I was saving an Amazon gift card I got for Christmas specifically for Exai.

I also like going out in the open water and just keep drifting away from the island. This is probably the first game I enjoyed getting lost in. The word "game" itself is kind of loose in this context though. Maybe it's more of a lo-res dream simulator.

Yeah Family Guy blows, and sure as hell doesn't belong in an Ae thread. Sorry to be a dick Xox, but I fuckin' hate that show. Man, this thread really got divided by zero.

Just got it. Love it. But what is with the timer? Does that mean it will restart all my progress when it runs out? That would be really lame because as great as it is I would hate to have to restart from the beginning to finish it. Just saw the vid for Antichamber. Looks pretty dope. I'll have to wait at least another week to buy it though. No doubt in my mind Portal had an influence on this game's development. More proof that not all first-person games have to be about killing things.

This thread feels like a drawn-out New Year's countdown. Dumb analogy, I know.

Earlier I said I was gonna wait until the release to hear any of Exai. But the temptation won. I listened to the samples provided at the Norman Records site, and I gotta say DAMN. I already like this more than Oversteps. Irlite (get 0) and prac-f especially give me a brain boner. This be next level shit. Screw everything else this year.

Draft 7.30's album art was made by aliens. Oversteps' album art was made by first graders.

A new indie adventure/dream scape game just released today: Proteus (http://www.visitproteus.com/) I haven't tried it yet, but it's a cool idea.

Damn. I almost clicked on those sound clips but I didn't - had to fight the urge. To me it would be like a Christmas present with a small peep hole cut into the side of the packaging. I should just wait til it's released. To me it's more EXAIting without spoilers.

If it's not available by 4 March, I'm gonna nose-dive into a mud pit like a Japanese schoolgirl.

Sorry if I sounded like a judgmental prick in my last post regarding HL2 mods. I like to revisit older classics on occasion as well. Just pre-ordered Bioshock: Infinite about an hour ago. I mistakenly thought it was to be released 26 February, but it's actually 26 March. Still, there are plenty of game options in the meantime.

I played that almost a year ago and never finished it due to boredom. I like the idea of a playable interactive narrative in the first-person perspective, but this one just feels lifeless. I'm kind of surprised people are still playing HL2 mods. Valve's latest game is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive from last August. I guess that was their attempt at reviving the CS community. Aside from a few new maps, guns, character models, and a couple of new game modes, the overall gameplay is basically unchanged from CS: Source. It costs only $15 though. Now let's see if Valve will release HL2: Episode III next Let's see how Valve will manage to survive from here onward.

So far I know how to make homemade curry, spaghetti, okonomiyaki, Spam musubi, yakisoba, jingisukan (Gengis Khan - Hokkaido regional dish), fried rice, sushi, and pho. Usually I can't be arsed to make precise measurements on ingredients though.

Just finished watching Django Unchained. (missed the beginning though) While the acting is good, I think the movie is more focused on sensationalism than plot. There's plenty of gratuitous blood spilled at the hands of the protagonist, but I've seen this formula in Tarantino's previous post-2000 movies - over a half hour of drawn-out dialogue followed by a five-minute bloodbath. This has a similar theme to Inglorious Basterds, in that the good guys kill off every bigoted racist they can find, which I find entertaining nonetheless. I'll give this one an 8/10.

I agree, RE4 is a solid game overall. Had a lot of replay value as well, since you could start a second playthrough with all the gear and their stats where you left off after finishing the first playthrough. I thought some of the creepiest moments were when you briefly had to play as Ashley and grab a puzzle piece of of some artifact in that dark basement area, and suddenly the knights spring to life and come after you after you grab it. The Regenerators towards the end of the game were pretty frightening too. I played RE5 also, but it felt like a recycled version of RE4. Didn't bother with RE6 because I heard it got crap reviews. As for the F.E.A.R. series, I've only played the demo of the second game. The first game is only ten bucks on Steam though. Might consider giving that one a go later.

Resident Evil 4 is a great example of this trend. Capcom were actually going to make it survival horror like its predecessors at first, but then opted for more of an action game in the end. And of course in games like Left 4 Dead it's common to have more than 30 zombies on the screen at once. The zombie theme in itself has become a bit of a cliche. But yeah, a survival horror game with a feeling of isolation and helplessness while facing dangers of the paranormal would enhance the experience I think.

That's what I liked about the first Resident Evil and Silent Hill - the quality-over-quantity approach to placement of monsters.

Still playing Borderlands 2. I don't think I've played anything else besides that in the past month. Finally got the popular Conference Call legendary weapon after "farming" the final boss on my own after the second playthrough. A lot of BL2 players make requests to other players to duplicate their loot for them online, but I've been getting legendary loot the hard way. Farming can take hours though. Haven't tried the new Big Game Hunt DLC yet, even though I purchased it already.
