  1. I was munching on some petrified stale bread a few minutes ago
  2. Ironic that he and I never interacted outside of WATMM despite being from the same state. But that bus tour sounds very much like any (honest) job orientation you'd find here. Alaskans are known for lack of sugar-coating. Also that bit about fruitless attempts at imparting wisdom can be applied to humanity as a whole I think. Seems I'm the sole living Alaskan now on WATMM. But I just can't live up to Salv's caliber when it comes to interesting stories, despite having studied abroad in uni/college. All I can do really these days is steal stupid memes all over the web for burgers. Damn. Don't cry because he's gone, but be happy that he was here, right.
  3. The original N64 version is basically how I spent all of my free time the second half of my 7th grade year. I loved how revolutionary yet janky it was at the same time. The introduction of stealth, reloading, sniper scopes, and loads of real world guns by this game into the FPS genre back in 1997 are part of what make it such a milestone. Also there's nothing quite like going Slappers Only! in split-screen multiplayer with DK mode on.
  4. As an Alaskan for 20+ years, can confirm
  5. This is a tough one. If I had to pick one year, I'd say 1997. Envane, Chiastic Slide, and Cichlisuite were all released that year. I hate to use the term paradigm shift because it sounds pretentious and cliché, but in these releases it's evident that this point in time marked an evolutionary step in their career. At this point they go beyond merely changing up loop layers throughout tracks and take a more "surgical" approach in their sequencing. It's the point in time where precision editing really begins to manifest, and would carry on indefinitely from that point onward. (Hope that made sense)
  6. Damn. I still remember all his crazy antics here from 2013. And I think we had a minor dispute or two over some political thread, but there's no denying the impact he made here. R.I.P. fellow Alaskan
  7. Every time I play around with my Korg Minilogue XD I manage to come up with some badass sounds. Dunno why I don't use it more often.
  8. Titanfall 2 campaign was pretty solid overall but short. First time playing was like two months ago.
  9. "Unidejutsh" Speaking of Fallout, I just started a new Frontier New Vegas playthrough. Gonna go for the Mr. House ending this time.
  10. I was prescribed ritalin back when I was 9 or 10 because at the time it was seen as some kind of mental impairment. I'm sure my "symptoms" are still obvious here to this day, but I do think we gain more self-control with age. In fact I'd argue that the internet as a whole has served as an outlet for many of us "patients" over the years. And quite frankly, if ADD didn't exist life would be a lot more boring.
  11. I'm legit considering shopping for a jump rope. I've missed too many gym days lately, so I'm opting for a backup cardio regimen at home for days I end up not going.
  12. As it so happens I found a new artist on Bandcamp last night. Problem solved.
  13. The demon pain sound in classic Doom always sounded stupid and janky to me. Always sounded like "Paul! Paul! Paul! Paul!"
  14. I was gonna try to wake up early enough to go to the gym before work this morning but forgot to set my alarm. Forgetfulness with age is no joke.
  15. Fallout: The Frontier...ohh man. Never would have guessed a week ago that it would end up being such a shit storm. People who've played it are saying that it's basically a power fantasy with f-all for a plot. And supposedly the devs cut out the Enclave quest line but kept the questionable fetishes intact, most notably the horny Deathclaw. And just yesterday one of the devs was confirmed to be a pedophile and got removed from the team. All of this after seven years of development... Cyberpunk was just buggy on launch, but at least CDPR have publicly apologized and are actively patching it to make amends. But this F:NV mega mod is a completely different kind of clusterfuck. But at least it was free right? I still don't see it available on the Steam page, but at this point I don't think it matters.
  16. Gotta admit that Steam has been pretty convenient for building up my game library ever since Valve expanded the service to include third-party/non-proprietary titles. But nothing beats the thrill of getting one's sweaty little hands on a Super Metroid cartridge for rent back in 1994 when it was in such high demand that it was a matter of luck.
  17. I miss when music was better, but I'm glad that there's less pressure to make phone calls and engage in in-person social interaction these days
  18. We've reached the point in human history where vampiress oppai are Capcom's flagship marketing strategy
  19. Yeah it was like a 200+ MB update I think. I played DC quite a bit on my phone last Sept, then recently bought it on Steam but haven't played on PC yet. Never played Blasphemous though, might buy it later.
