    suing FB, twitter, etc. is all such a great use of everyone's time...     yeah if the next one is 100% airborne, causes you to bleed out your pores so everyone knows you're infected, and you die within hours of contracting the virus, then yes, I think it will be far worse than the covid. that's essentially the zombiepocalypse, right? if anything, this whole pandemic has made me realize I need to sharpen up the ol' survival skills. if it ever does get to a point like that, then we won't be able to calmly waddle into a grocery store to get our food with a mask on, because everyone will be scared shitless and everything will all be completely closed. more of us need to learn to live off the land. grow your own veggies. raise chickens. shit like that.

    this is one of those classic films that has been on my mental "need to watch" list for so long, that I somehow end up forgetting to ever watch the damn thing. I'm a fan of the HBO show Carnivale, and The Night of the Hunter always came up being discussed on the old imdb boards as one to watch if you like Carnivale. the dueling motifs of good vs. evil, the preacher vs. the kid. these themes are shared in both, and I'd suspect TNOTH influenced the creator of Carnivale (as did the Ray Bradbury novel, Something Wicked This Way Comes). anyway, I can't say anything new about this film that hasn't been said before. it is not scary, but suspenseful, for sure. 10/10 cinematography. some of the ideas in the movies seemed ahead of their time - Robert Mitchum as the unstoppable terminator like force. the take-no-shit strong female heroine. the psychotic dialogue with and mistreatment of the young kids. just seems like that wasn't the norm for a typical movie back in 1955. but I dunno, I'm no expert on films from the '50s. maybe there were more like that. glad I finally watched it.

    I'm really becoming less and less a fan of big cities. back when I was in my 20's, I thought living in a big city was cool. walking to bars on busy sidewalks, taking the subway, hopping in taxis...it all seemed so fun. I could care less about that any more. now I dream of one day living in a small town USA. there are so many great old little towns scattered throughout this country with "great bones." but the vast majority of them are flowing with run down, vacant, neglected old historic brick buildings. my utopian pipe dream is that these quaint little places will one day be re-populated by a diverse group of people vacating the cities, as they too are sick of the traffic, housing costs, rich d-bags in sports cars. but I know the reality is that all these little small towns are dead zones, currently packed with orange man supporters, bigoted wasps, who think they've been slighted by the foreigners.

    0% they are obviously unmanned intergalactic space vessels sent to observe the earth and send reports back to their planet. we do the same thing with our unmanned crafts going to Mars. just the aliens started their planet before we started ours and are technologically more advanced. we'll get there someday though, but everyone on this forum will be dead by then. except ding. I have a feeling that bastard is going to outlast every single one of us.

    embrace the heat, brother. I am one who enjoys sitting outside when it's 107. it is a way to acclimate my body to the world of the future, when one day nuclear annihilation happens and what's left of us are roaming around in a scorched earth apocalyptic wasteland. the heat will be unbearable then, but I will have already acclimated myself to it.

    for real. someone in one of these threads commented on something saying "this is why we can't have nice things." well THIS is why we can't have nice things. fucking idiots out there ruin it for those of us who try and live our lives following basic common sense principles. there is something out there that could save your life, given to you for free, and you won't take it because of a host of BS reasons that have been stuffed in your head thanks to the internet giving way to privileged thinking. bravo, modern day civilization.

    ^ definitely. Delvon Lamarr is legit. their first album is great too. I'm always on the look out for a good jazz/funk instrumental band, especially organ trio's. I lived in south Louisiana back in the late '90s, used to go to New Orleans a bunch for shows. got into this sound since this stuff is everywhere in that town.

    if you think about it, cars are probably the #1 thing that have fucked up this planet's environment immensely. all the roads laid down that ripped up the earth, all the oil drilled out of this planet to turn into fuel for them. all the pollution that has come because of them. all the sprawl thanks to them. cars are evil I tell you, evil. they should be banned from this planet. but yeah, I have them. I can't go anywhere without relying on them. I dunno what else to do tho. I'm not rich enough to live in the city centre area and walk/bike everywhere.

    Ok cool. sometimes hard to read people's intentions on here, so wasn't sure if you were struggling or not. and as far as it being society's fault and not your own for whatever you're dealing with - biggest issue I have to deal with on a professional level is personal accountability. no one ever wants to own up to fuck ups. most folks always try and push anything not going smoothly onto someone or something else. I am usually the guy that has to step in and own problems not of my own making. that shit is not always easy. it requires some definite game plan knowledge, and I really wish I had a better way to convey this skill on my resume so I could get a better job. anyway, whatever happens happens. it's all good. none of this shit matters man. fuck it.

    if you're being serious about some of this stuff, have you considered talking to someone IRL outside your circle of friends about what you're feeling/experiencing? talking through things does help. if you're friends aren't an option as an outlet, then perhaps a counsellor/psychologist? I've been thinking about doing this again myself lately. been a long time since I went to talk to someone about stuff like that, and I do remember it brought some temporary relief. it was for social anxiety issues I was experiencing back in my early 20's.
