  1. That first one really was kick-ass. Had a listen again this evening. The Depeche Mode and Erasure remixes. Keiichi Suzuki- Satellite Serenade, Yasuaki Shimizu - Secret Squirrel. Little known fact: On the original 1996 release, many of the tracks are mastered in mono. The 2001 reissues (still bearing the 1996 copyrights) corrected the error, but also changed the tracklist. Here is the full double album from 96. Man, those were some good times.
  2. I still have some tracks I ripped a stream of from his now defunct website back in 2005 that he's never released. I once toyed with the idea of sending them to him (in case he's forgotten they ever existed).
  3. Yeah, the first one was stellar. Second one was not so good. Hope there isn't a pattern emerging.
  4. Wow. This is a pleasant surprise. Most of 2020 has been full of rather unpleasant ones. Part 3 in this long running series. I remember picking up the first one back in the mid-90s - back when I was slimmer and had more hair. I'm still very fond of the first two in the series, especially the first one. I'm sure there will be some interesting pieces on here too. https://theorb.lnk.to/auntieaubreys3
  5. New release. A compilation of remixes, lesser known pieces from 2000 - 2002, including the pieces from that Freescha split EP back in 04. I remember paying a lot of money for that on Discogs back in the day. It also includes 'Durusey', which I consider to be one of the finest things Erik has ever recorded. If you don't buy any other music this week, this album and the Freescha re-release should be top of your agenda. Music from the some of the IDM masters.
  6. Yeah, this album has some of the sweetest washed out electronics I've ever heard. Can't believe how many years have passed since I first heard it, probably 2004. Essential listening.
  7. Considering the talent involved, these are some truly lame-ass tracks. Burial still has time to redeem himself with that traditional pre-Christmas Eve drop.
  8. Jeez. That sounds so awful, I cannot decide whether or not it's a deliberate piss-take. And the videos - pure pretentious 70s prog garbage. If it is deliberate, that's an awful lot of time spent on something you'd flush down the toilet. I think I'd rather just concentrate on FSOL and pretend than this crap doesn't even exist.
  9. There's a rip of this now floating around. Had a listen. Pretty boring, to be honest. If it didn't have those well-known names attached, you'd pass over this without even caring.
  10. One thing you can predict with total certainty lately is that whenever he comes out with a new album, the preview track is by far and away the best thing. All the mediocre stuff is hidden behind the Bandcamp paywall.
  11. Short list this year. Listened to probably close to two hundred albums in the past twelve months but I've only included those that truly fucked with me. These are in no order. Often, they are difficult listening but also sometimes haunting and yet life-affirming too. Oneohtrix Point Never - Magic Oneohtrix Point Never Votel, Canty & Shipton - Popular Mechanics 4 Japan - Gentlemen Take Polaroids Blod - Livets Ord Yellow Swans - Going Places
  12. Stoked to hear this album in its entirety. Only one more day to wait.
  13. Wow. Entcid is one monolithic sound. Epic stuff.
  14. This a great collection of unreleased pieces. My only problem with a couple of these tracks are that they are completely ruined by the vocals. O, My Daughter, O, My Sorrow doesn't need need that mournful, melodramatic far-eastern vocal. It's already enough without it. There's a couple of others that suffer from this same problem. A great album but the vocals hinder it.
  15. If I was a judge in court, the first thing I'd be asking Trump lawyers is why the allegations of fraud etc only relate to states that Trump has lost. Surely, the (so called) widespread fraud would have been everywhere? Fucking laughable.
  16. I don't know why so many people think Trump will run again in 2024. Four years is a lifetime in politics. He might very well be facing jail a year from now.
  17. I wouldn't worry. The oxygen is quickly going out of the Trump campaign now. The focus and attention is quickly moving elsewhere. A very telling point: Pfizer notified the Biden Task Force last night. Trump had to read about it when everyone else knew. Pfizer knows where the power now lays.
