  1. it would be great if you could scan the barcode, then press a button that says "wait, there's more", scan another item in the same bag, then put it on the scale, and the computer would simply add both weights. now i need separate bags for each fruit/vegetable/bread
  2. they are all equally despicable. i get carried away. of course the structure as you described is there, but the people who comprise this structure are both fallible and corruptible, and enjoy a certain immunity from prosecution, either by law, or by gatekeeping (done all the time). when you vote biden or trump, you don't vote biden or trump, but rather their sponsors (and ideology), so the choice you make it completely illusory; you get fucked either way, it just hurts differently. sometimes i think people don't really grasp what that entails. on top of that, the power centers will protect this status quo with all means, because it's their power base. no alternatives ever come close to competing. things are being perpetuated that are exactly opposing the concepts of "serving the people". putin is a gangster and definitely certifiable.
  3. with internet the world has become a village. so instead of something nice, the village idiots are the loudest, and some know to benefit from it in a big way. so let's say you have huge money because heritage, and you are groomed into a society that is a world of its own - separated from the rest, with more or less zero rules (no honor among thieves heh) that otherwise apply to "ordinary citizens". so, with a large monopoly assets (media, for instance) you can spin any fad or movement, or even start one of your own. you own the news networks, and tabloids, and social media moguls are your budies (because you gave them money for their startups), shit spreads like wildfire. then you (well not you, but your vassals) find people who would willingly work your bidding, and you make them a star by dragging them on every prime-time, hot social media format, putting words in their mouth, or just manipulate the narrative and suppress everything opposing. i mean, how is biden a president? he is clearly a senile pedo, and they have him by the balls for it. so there you have your "man". you think a senile babbling pedo is able to figure out many complex strategic questions? he's just there to talk nice big words (if he can) and sign the laws and orders (so it's "legit"). they all are, all presidents. faces for hire: stars of the theatre. boris johnson? lol, seriously. macron? von der leyen? zelenskyy? fuck me, right?
  4. jfc what a freakshow. that's what happens if you let capital run amok and install babbling idiots as their puppets take notes, Europe, it's happening right now in a government near you
  5. you could have a movie about deckard's life in the old casino just his everyday chores, like waking up into the eternal bleakness of his days, checking his android resistance newsletter that hasn't been updated in 2 years, wiping the yellow dust, collecting rain water, sipping his whiskey glass in complete silence, and setting up booby traps for when the day comes, while listening to the caretaker
  6. you what's worse than too much rain? a leaking roof
  7. so Schulz is now buying oil from SA. fucking lmao. just so you know whose hands are less dirty, now. very integrity eu/germany. very much indeed. fucking charade is what it is.
  8. i like the alternate reality of Seinfeld. it never fails me to get me back in a good mood. a couple of clips on yt and i'm set. curb i only watched the first season and a couple of random later episodes. not that i didn't like it, it's funny as hell, but somehow it got old after a while.
  9. I never understood the appeal of beavis and butthead
  10. If I can believe the published maps, then the Azov land bridge to Crimea is occupied, which I believe was the true scope, or objective of this "special operation". The reservists could be used as occupation and defense troops. All cannon fodder, and if the "alliance" strikes back, shit's going to be grim. This whole thing is so medieval it's hard to believe it can happen nowadays. But here we are. And the west is like "we can make massive money off this", and putin is desperate because he's now china's schadefreude. And the smoke of battle rising above Ukraine hides another banker heist of the decade. Hey, it's free market, remember?!
  11. i don't think he would dare use it, however in-character such a hyperbole is for putin. it's grotesque that the referendum is about to take place in an occupied territory while the war is still going. i mean wtf is even that. (i mean, i know, but c'mon lol)
  12. probably Sajeta 2013 festival in Tolmin, with Cristian Vogel playing the most proper 2-hr chunky rumble dj set with a half-hour encore. many other interesting artists, Alex Paterson, etc. one notable perhaps was a flute player who is otherwise known (to me, at least), as a pop(-ish) music artist, but completely surprised with a beautiful drone-ish, etno-pagan (sorry, i don't know how to describe it otherwise) concert with vocals, and flute, and field recordings. all the music and acts fitted so nicely into the ambience of a camp site, situated at the confluence of two rivers in a mountain valley, with wooden-made stages, camp fires, etc, and the people also made awesome atmosphere. a perfect summer adventure: camping there, the festival, and many activities we've been doing while staying for a week.
  13. i really dislike how some subreddits are named *porn: abandonedporn, architectureporn, atrefactporn, artporn.... and so many of those are named that way it's so retarded and juvenile
  14. Curiously, the original title was "Il professione: reporter", which in italian means "Occupation: Reporter". Like something i guess an investigator would write into his report about his death. But I like "The Passenger" better, because it implies that he was not in control of his life (not being behind the wheel). Yeah Nicholson had that "larger than life" attitude problem that probably was the reason he ditched auteur cinema and become a hwood star, because he just wasn't compatible that way with people who develop intimate stories. Idk
  15. I love this movie, the story and the character feel so real and both Antonioni and Nicholson do a great job with it. The whole life crisis tone reminds me of Five Easy Pieces (also starring Nicholson), but this one has that inner sense of melancholy and nihilism very pronounced and very competently (with understanding) presented in the movie form; the man without point in life, finds a possible solution to escape from himself and his life, but gets nowhere. I love that end shot, because although it's the end for him, the life around just goes on like nothing happened. A storm in a tea cup, but to him it was everything or nothing. Very relatable. Too bad Nicholson did not cooperate with auteurs more back in those golden years. And don't get me started on contemporary movies. I don't even remember what was the latest movie in terms of release date I saw, but I think it might be James Bond Skyfall which we watched with the family of my ex in cinema once upon a time. I just don't care anymore.
  16. afaik the royal families across the world had eventually adopted the "new money" approach to things and have holding companies for their assets, including ownership of land, resources, investments, etc? because the bane of their existence was/is the financial and industrial strata of society that in short time gained huge power and could compete (and outright) evict the royal influence, which is why the royal families remained secluded in a more or less dignified fringes of power-society. i think Elizabeth's prestige mostly came from her history and diplomatic relations. she was able to maintain a fairly decent public image of noble heritage and national pride, but that started to really fall apart since many "scandals" like Charles and Camilla, Diana's death, family shenanigans, the prince being a pedo, etc. Charles was trying to do some half-hearted environmental campaigning, but it's all mainly self-serving. Brexit was obviously a deal she could not refuse. Scotland and Ireland, and Wales.... what's left? 21st century is the time of world wide financial monarchs and their empires. which is basically the same thing as before
  17. lol that sounds intriguing actually. does it have any ilustrations?
  18. I'm always happy to take a good book that was discarded by its previous owner. Last time I found Neitzsche's Thus Spoke Zaratustra, someone left it in a box on top of a dumpster. A couple of months ago I salvaged a crate of books, among them big color art books, folk arts decoration patterns collections, a book about Cossacks and some construction DIYs. People just give them away? I am happy to take it. It would be so good to have a place for a big study room of my own.
