This is hop heaven. A punch of hops in the face, with aromas of citrus, pineapple, and a well hidden 9.5% abv. Good god, I say drink it. Immediately. I was whiffing my empty glass afterwards, wishing there was more.

A lot of Ae fans will be Flepping to this album for quite some time, I imagine.

Like others are saying, it's the second half that really won me over. And there's lots to pick out on repeat listens. After the last couple albums, I basically forgot that a new Ae album is supposed to be difficult to wrap your head around on the first listen, as much as I like Oversteppah, MoT. This one is a shiny new present with gadgets and bells n whistles.

There shouldn't be a debate over the quality of MBV's back catalogue period, nevermind in an Exai thread. Once I had my initial IDM fever, I fell back on other music I liistened to a lot before, including MBV, and it's clearly no less sophisitcated or esoteric than this weird electronic music we post about here. Also, this "IDM" stuff only makes MORE sense when you listen to a wide variety of other things. It gives it some actual context and shows what a unique melting pot of influences it can be at its best. So for the skeptics, listen to MBV's older albums and EPs. It's sexy. Education, son.

The nickname "The 'chre" reminds me of an old whaling vessel covered in barnacles with a giant squid below deck, rolling over giant waves during a storm at sea. Which is pretty fucking gnarboots IDM if you ask me.

Since when are the preview tracks the best on Ae's albums anyway? I like the general sound so far, but will listen no more. I have complete faith that they will get real weird with it.
