  1. also on a more current point, i think the guy going outside was kind of explained by the fact that he had in fact been bit, which was why he started crying. but the question of who is putting those marks on the trees still remains (or did it show that and i missed it?). and is it just me or is it kinda dumb to bring back that guy rick met early on and had the encounter with later (the guy with the mask on)? just seems too unlikely that he'd not only still be alive but keeps bumping into rick. also im glad they didnt draw the cannibal thing out very long. they need to get away from the whole 'group of bad ppl out to get them' thing, its getting tedious
  2. i lost interest mid-way through last season when the prison was raided, quit watching. finally caught up in the past week, and i just have to say- when carol shot that one girl, that was pretty rough. to me those rare moments like that redeem the series a bit, for all the dumb nonsensical shit that people do or the magical zombies that appear out of nowhere, etc etc etc. i mean, for the simple fact of it being a pretty challenging kind of moment. someone shot a non-zombie little girl, but the show built up a pretty gruesome case that it had to be done. lots of people would say it wasn't the right thing to do but that's what's so great about it, it was a totally fucked up problem with no actual good answer to it, only a shitty answer that might let her and the dude and baby survive a little longer, and spare the girl from hurting/endangering others or a worse fate herself. pretty intense shit. harkens back to that infamous barn scene with carols daughter in season 2, which honestly, totally surprised me and was pretty intense also as dumb as the show is, those moments are at least pretty damn cool and itd be tough to deny that
  3. ahyes the enlightened kid who says everyone should drop out of school because they are brainwash centers good message for the kids
  4. i cant understand most of it. is he rapping about having lots of money and a famous daddy?
  5. yeh midnight section is great. i think death dimension is my fav thing of his by far. but pov is his best overall release imo, in terms of it being cohesive, and having what i perceive as a 'theme' of some sort. its like an adventure
  6. oh, fuck you spiral thats just too far
  7. hey pitchfork, can you please tell me again which song it is that skrillex likes and which one kanye sampled? it's been 5 minutes since the last time you mentioned it, fucking morons. and those guys are important so if they mentioned this aphex twin dude then it must be OK for me to check him out. oh but hmm whats this? a video for a song called windowlicker. i'll click on that and give that a chance. wow is this racist? i dunno but its really disturbing and super weeieeieeirrrd! eewww!
  8. im still feeling pretty content with syro, to say the least also that japanese bonus track, i think it probably is one of the better ones. great track (at first listen i didnt really like it though) i dont know what the thing JR alludes to could be if it isn't music, that could compete with syro or the kickstarter in terms of excitement levels
  9. i would think that he would do editing between various takes to get the best combination of all takes, instead of recording multiple takes and just picking one
  10. the early fenix funk is a lot like the finished one but different enough to be a nice alternative to it one of the best on analord for sure so its cool to hear that other version. wouldve preferred it to some of the bonuses that were released with the digital release of analord....
  11. so now were on to interviews of the interviewers?
  12. i just got mine today, from amazon. wasnt too bothered about how long it took since i saved like 20 bux and got a miles davis record too anyway, the packaging is really nice (vinyl), as has been said
  13. i would seriously hope he's converted any old tracks he has on DAT tapes over to just digital wavs on a hard drive or something by now... i've read those DAT tapes go bad eventually, at least mechanically, and that once they do it's going to be maybe impossible to get anything off of it
  14. i only shoot pure jenk aka butt-hash its the only way to fly (and enjoy syro)
  15. guys i think this leman person is right. we all have shit in our ears and think music is a dsp contest. leman is clearly not a troll, and is stating a correct fact.
  16. i like to think that im not a blind fanboy, i just happen to really like the guy's tracks, and i don't really feel that there is any need to defend him from you or anyone, but how exactly does your brain jump from each of those statements to the next? first off, i feel like it would take a lot for any musician/band to put out a release that was 'insulting' to the fans or whoever bought it. it'd have to be really defective, or just terrible and sub-standard. syro is absolutely not either of those things. so what if some of the tracks were on youtube? a) its fucking youtube b) they sounded pretty shit c) now they sound great. i actually was never terribly impressed by the metz/manchester tracks the few times i listened. i never understood the praise they got around here. but when i listened i thought 'sounds like there could be some details in these tracks that are being lost by the shitty cell phone/whatever recording and youtube transcoding. details that may be really important to these tracks'. now that i've heard them on the album i think theyre fucking great. the difference for me was night and day. so why the fuck should i be insulted by that? are you mental? 2ndly, how can you not see a problem with your asking why it was released under aphex, then saying later that it's a very aphex release? i'd like to agree with what's been said that post count doesnt necessarily give more weight to someone's posts, but to some degree, it does. if someone who's posts i've read many times and considered them and saw eye to eye with them on some level, says something that i really don't agree with, i'm going to be a bit more likely to think about what theyre saying and look at their reasoning and see if there might be something to it. yet even though you have few posts i still looked at what you had to say and saw nothing worthy of consideration. its contradictory and idiotic. aphex didn't owe you the album of your dreams. he gave us a great album and you admit that its great but still struggle to find things to bitch about and even say its insulting. you're the exact kind of idiot who gives new posters a bad name. congrats
  17. guys the only way out of this is to seppuku like men (its also the only real way to experience syro)
  18. its ok to be wrong even i am, sometimes
  19. syromania has swept the nations get on board
  20. totally agree. i was thinking the same thing myself, about the not being new or groundbreaking. it is. there is honestly nothing else quite like this out there, and certainly not at this level.
  21. itd take several listens to really absorb this, but i can say these things- even though there are definitely many elements here and there that are like things heard in his other releases, imo as a whole its a very different album from any others of his, surprisingly so even, for me. which imo is the main important thing for an aphex album. also i'm hearing LOTS of sound design thats unlike anything i've heard from him. i always wished analord had more varied synth sounds on it like this does. musically, there are some really weird moods going on in places, sometimes fairly alien, which is awesome. a few places in the thing i'm *slightly* reminded of ufabalum which i feel was always pretty underrated since imo its exactly what a more futuristic squarepusher (would and does) sound like. i feel like in some ways this comes across as a modern aphex album built on the foundation of his classic albums/eps (just like ufabalum was for SP). i love how lo-fi some aspects of it are. you can hear noise on almost every track (seems like even more than on analord to me), either from individual sounds coming from noisy synths or being ran through noisy equipment, or it could be that he just added the noise or even ran stems or the whole track through something noisy like tape and/or old tube equipment. pretty obvious spring reverb being smacked or just having a loud transient sound going through it, several times in produk29 anyway yeah i'm pretty sure with the first listen, that for me this is among his best albums and will only get better with each listen
  22. not sure if this is true guys, and its more relevant to future albums than it is syro, but there's a rumor going around in chatmm and other places that the next, more experimental aphex releases will be released in a series of interracial, extreme cuckold porn as the background music so be on the lookout, you may already be downloading it
