  1. Double Chocolate is pretty decent, idk if i'd say it's worth the $16 though, but pretty good... Not much to complain about if it was a gift. Also... mmmmm Nocturnum. What's that Ommegang one on the right?
  2. WTF, seriously? That's some huge bullshit there... Revenge of some sort is called for I'd think. If my gf's mom did that for my gf's brother and sister there'd definitely be some heated word exchange at very least.
  3. Went back to Diablo 3 for the first time in a while last night playing with my gf on the new laptop... I've realized the game really did get unfairly flamed in the first couple months. Sure it's no Diablo 2, but it's not a bad game and the recent patches have fixed many of the balance issues and other flaws (crafting, drops, etc). It seems everyone forgot it took them til about patch 1.07 to get Diablo II all smooth as well.
  4. Got my new laptop, but all my music is split between my old laptop and my external harddrive like 17,000 songs worth. It's gonna be a pain in the ass to get them into the library on this new one... I do have everything on my ipod though. Anyone know a good program that let's you extract mp3s from an ipod into a library? (I don't get why they don't just let you do this anyway, stupid DRM)
  5. My GF picked it up yesterday for PC and seems to be enjoying it so far... I'll probably give it a try when she's done with her run-through, it certainly looks nicefrom what I can tell just glancing over at her screen, so I guess good job lumpy! I picked up Deus Ex: Human Revolution for cheap after hearing how well done the atmosphere and story is... Not too far in only did the first mission really, but I like that it seems to have the feel of the original PC game (though it's been so long since I played it I forget large parts), dialogue choices that impact the game etc... Some of the character animations are a little choppy, but nothing to really complain too much about.
  6. Idk if I'd say it's shoegazey but it's definitely a little less heavy, and a lot more psychedelic than most of their other stuff, it's good stuff
  7. JK Flesh (Justin Broaderick and Prurient) - Posthuman: I gotta say this album is awesome. Less harsh noise, more kind of a mix of industrial, noise and dub but it's all still pretty noisy and Prurient's elements are definitely there. Great stuff, I'll probably be giving this a lot of rotation in time to come. Mutilation Rites - Empyrean: Seriously good black metal EP, highly reccommend it for those into that sort of stuff, yeah the band's name sounds like another excercise in tryhard metal brutality but this is quality stuff.
  8. Zephyr I think you'd love it, it's quality stuff. I gave that Lasse Marhaug album a listen too (couldn't get the John Wiese collab link working though) interesting stuff, almost hypnotic at parts
  9. Picked up the JK Flesh (Justin Broaderick and Prurient) Posthuman album this weekend, and I gotta say, it's awesome. Less harsh noise, more kind of a mix of industrial, noise and dub but it's all still pretty noisy and Prurient's elements are definitely there. Great stuff, I'll probably be giving this a lot of rotation in time to come.
  10. Meh, I'm done with the AC series, give me watchdogs
  11. Finished Dead Space 3 last night, gripe about the series all you want, but Dead Space 3 was a great game and they fixed a lot of the older hang-ups... now to do the co-op online (anyone with a PS3 wanna co-op get at me), and tackle Pure Survival mode (no item drops, everything must be crafted from resources).
  12. Leftover baked Spaghetti and a Capri Sun
  13. I suppose if you never played Doom 3 when it first came out it's worth it, but since I had, I felt extremely ripped off by the BFG edition they marketed as an HD remaster, but they changed nothing except allowing you to have the flashlight and gun at the same time and then just ported it over, looks the exact same it did on the first Xbox. Still, a pretty good game though I suppose.
  14. ^^that sounds like a badass comp. I'll have to track that one down. Any idea what it's priced at normally?
  15. I honestly think this next album,if it does come out will be the last tool release. I don't think Maynard's in the same mindset as he was when previous tool was written at all anymore, I didn't care much for 10k days and I think this is one of the reasons why. 10kdays felt more like tool parodying itself.
  16. Traded in ACIII today and put it towards Bioshock: Infinite, no regrets... Almost picked up Metal Gear Rising, but I've heard it's a pretty short game so I'll wait til the price drops a bit
  17. Autechre - Exai: I think we're all under the general consensus this album is amazing, I could easily see this becoming one of my favs in their catalog Atoms For Peace - Amok;Good stuff, kinda does sound like The Eraser 2, but that's not necessarily bad, I wish Flea's presence stood out a little more. Great stuff though Darkstar - News From Nowhere: Interesting album, takes kinda a more indie route than that first one, almost reminds me of Seefeel a bit in parts Aesop Rock - Bazooka Tooth: One of his earlier albums, probably one of his more abstract releases Kylesa - Spiral Shadow: Psychedliec sludgey goodness, gotta love the double drummer thing they got going
  18. After browsing through the thread a bit more I think I am gonna check out that John Wiese album as well. I remember seeing that cover posted around somewhere, and it really does seem like interesting sound design. Also I hear a lot of people talk about Throbbing Gristle and Wolf Eyes being artists worth hearing and having a somewhat metal appeal. This intrigues me, is this true? And where should I start?
  19. That was pretty cool, I think I'll look more into them... I think I'm coming to find I enjoy more ambient-ish noise, or noise-rock (lightning bolt, etc..) than harsh noise... but I'm quite a noob with all this noise stuff. I haven't cared for any Merzbow I've heard really (which isn't really much though) I dig some Prurient though. It seems a hard genre to really get into and explore as it's so varied and much of it by nature and artistic choice is quite inaccessible.
  20. I feel Max Payne 3 was true in spirit to the first 2, it just was in a new setting. He had the same bitter worldviews, more so jaded with the time passed actually, and the unflinching grittiness was still there. It was nice that for a few levels they took you back to the old New York feel. I've been meaning to go back through it when I finish some other stuff. Good game. Anyone actually track down all the golden gun pieces without using the guide? I tried but feel like I failed miserably those things were well hidden.
  21. Went back and revisited Nirvana's In Utero earlier today... it really is a great album and I might say I enjoy it a bit more than Nevermind. Upon reflection a thought occured to me. I think had Kurt Cobain stuck around longer and Nirvana stayed together they probably would have evolved into more of a post-hardcore/noise rock band. There was a lot of evidence Kurt was headed that way musically. Take this song for example:
  22. There was a whole debacle on that site of the band actually visiting a few times pre-Lateralus release... The main event everyone talked about where Maynard himself came in with Adam was really just myself with some chat bots, the really super-informative tool FAQ that used to be posted on a few sites, some rolling stone and other interviews, a lot of weed, and way too much time on my hands. I thought it was hilarious, so many pop up windows of fans wanting to ask a personal question or knowing the secret meanings to whatever songs... I had people going for like 3 hours thinking I was Maynard.
