Can't find the recent vinyl purchases thread, but this arrived for me today, from a discogs order:

b3fbc552e86611e2a64d22000a9f1590_7.jpg

It's one of my favourite electronic albums of all time. Not sure why it took me so long to grab a vinyl copy, but it was damn well worth it. On side four at the moment and seriously considering putting it on again when it's over (I NEVER do this).

Nice! I recently, finally, picked up that album as well. CD tho

I'd like to get the CD version of 'Sketches' as well, somehow. I really dig some of those tracks from back in the day.

  • 2 weeks later...

Got a pretty good haul this weekend, perusing the sales in the records shops down Berwick Street.

Didn't pay more than £5 for any of these, most of them were between £2-£3. One of my favorite things is gambling on albums I've never heard of that look interesting.

Dave Monolith - Welcome (paid £3 for it, sealed!)

Few Nolder - New Folder

Mrs Jynx - The Standoffish Cat

P.P.Roy - You Can't Help Liking (£1!)

Imitation Electric Piano - Trinity Neon (this was a great find, post rock-esque stuff on Stereolab's label, been on my want list for 10 yrs)

Cygnus - Cursed Mounds (spray painted cdr noise goodness on Fag Tapes)

Chow Chow - Colours And Lines (no idea what this is but nice cover and instruments listed include Nintendo, 303, vocoder and fire extinguisher)

Nightmare Air - High In The Lasers (once again, no idea but great cover! Promo too.)

Shugo Tokumaru - In Focus? (never heard of this guy but looks like he has quite a following)

V/A - What Would Jason Do? Go And Do Likewise! (double CD comp of people remixing recordings of 2 ceramic pigs being painted, includes tracks by venetian snares, Speedranch, V/Vm, Kid606 a & Atom Heart)

Aranos - Magnificent! Magnificent! No One Knows The Final Word (Sometime NWW collaborator, beautiful Packaging)

Adam Leonard - Nature Recordings (very nice drone/psyche folk, also nicely packaged. Which I'm a sucker for.)

V/A - Twisted Nerve: Modern Music For MotorVehicles (cassette version) (Got this off discogs, decided to start collecting the original Twisted Nerve back catalogue, i.e just the TN00 cat no.s and have started my collection with this.)

Picked up a couple essentials vinyls for my small but growing collection today...

Aphex Twin - The RDJ album

Radiohead - Kid A

Also picked up Tim Hecker's Harmony in Ultraviolet on CD for super cheap, now I can pop that in the CD player to sleep to, was also really tempted to pick up The Haxan Cloak's Excavation on vinyl but I'll have to wait for next paycheck on that one...

Michael Santos - The Happy Error

msantos_error.jpg

Discovered this by chance in Record & Tape exchange when the guy in there was playing CDs to see which section to file them in. Their copy was a bit fucked/scratched so I ordered one from Discogs.

Nice glitchy, ambient, Oval-esque stuff.

:orly:

I've always really like the LP5 CD design. My mind was actually blown by it's design when I was shroomin' once.

Need to buy a new copy actually, I was walking past a pile of CDs, clipped them with my foot and broke the corner off the cover
