with little health, no firstaid kits, like 20$ and very little ammo. that was by far the hardest part for me. i dunno, i prefer playing games on easy-normal difficulty just so itd be less stressful, but i had to do this for the achievement :embrassed: :embrassed:

Been playing the demo of this on the PS3... I can certainly see what all the hype was about - this is a great game, and I will be considering getting it when it comes out.

I've got to work out why my laptop hates this game so much. Every time you get any speech (i.e. the audio diary entries and mission objectives), it says the first few words and then just gets stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stu-stuck for about a minute then jumps to the last few words of the dialogue. So basically it's unplayable on my PC, or I just guess as what I'm meant to do/where I'm meant to go.

That actually is the message on all the diaries, there's nothing wrong with your computer. You find out the guy guiding you is a sociopath that calls everyone Stew without providing any useful information. It's why the game got a 9.5 and not a 10.

I reckon the latter picture was some sort of temporary glitch from it loading a texture from a further view distance than what was required at that time. it probably looks better than that normally.

nah, the folks at 2k stated for some reason they messed up on the big daddies for the ps3 version - they all look like that close up. and since the game has gone 'gold', it's too late to fix. unless they release a downloadable patch later on,. which they probably will.

BioShock on PS3 is going to get some exclusive DLC. 2K are adding some things called "Challenge Rooms", which will be self-contained areas (ie, you access it from the main menu, not in-game) designed to get you using your plasmids to solve puzzles. Can't see how they'll work this in without it standing out like a sore thumb, but then, the market demands PS3 owners have to get something.

an extra for finishing the ps3 version is apparently the teaser trailer for bioshock 2: sea of dreams.

crappy quality vid here

love the reversed imagery of the grownup little sister holding a big daddy doll.

yeah totally, in the land of on always-online downloadable content nothing really needs to go gold now. Look at Ultima IX, that didn't even run on 90% of peoples PCs when it was first released. Hell I couldn't even boot Bioshock on my PC without downloading some crazy-ass retexturing and modification of the engine and it still doesn't work properly even with that shenanigan going on.

i got fed up with it. by the end i was running around with no money, no ammo, no health, and no blue stuff. the only way i got more was by getting myself killed and using the little extra they start you out with... then i had to freeze everything and hit it with the wrench to smash it and kill it. i would start over on an easier setting but i was almost finished anyway and i didn't want to play it all over again.

Did you play it with your feet? It's fucking piss. I completed this game before my forlorn and confused looking postman even attempted to put it through my letterbox. I was on the second level boss just as I sat down naked, third as undressed the cellophane, and last level as I pressed eject. I did not lose any energy, use any weapons, or resort to saving the game at any point. When I clocked it I got an achievement that you can't even spell, and a bonus character with no eyes and a decadent secret. As the last boss fell and the congratulatory music played I rose and knocked on my bay window, beckoning the postman to return. He approached my door smoking. By this time I had re-wrapped the game in clingfilm from Aldi, and left it temptingly hanging on the outside of my letterbox. He grabbed it sharply, spun on his cubans, and was gone. Then I put GTAIV on and ran over some children in an icecream van.

They are patching it after it comes out to address the Big Daddy texture issue as well as the "white bands" seen in the plane crash scene in the opening. So nice to have patches and updates to fix these kind of things after a game has gone gold.

Picked this up last week and after some initially issues with the control scheme I am loving it! In Arcadia now and the game's starting to get really good. Really like the variety of ways you can deal with situations and although the game is fairly linear there are a TON of extras, it's taking me at least a couple hours to get everything in a given level.

I'm trying to save all the little sisters on the first go, not too bad so far but I imagine it will get pretty challenging as the game goes on.

i worked to save every little sister, even

the end when escorting them

I'd recommend it since it just adds a little more to the game, and you get the loot from whoever that doctor was

I just started playing this again as well since I can't afford dead space atm
