except Ae used to release ridiculous amounts.

Word. Everybody used to, in fact: Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Autechre released a lot of shit back in the 90s. I guess they all keep making music as much as before but pick out and release the best tunes every few years by now.

I don't think any of those artists are really less prolific now. Aphex Twin has a lower profile, but the Analord EPs were three and a half hours of music, and we've also had both a Tuss EP and LP. Perhaps he just grew tired of all the infamy and expectations that came with releasing new Aphex Twin material. As for Squarepusher and Autechre, they've continued to release new material every 2-3 years, just like they used to. I suppose Autechre release an album in 93, 94, and 95, but it's not like their release schedule now is that different, plus they tour much more.

Check their discogs on discogs.com. Autechre released way more shit than Incunabula, Amber and Tri Repetae from '93 to '95.

They haven't produced everything released by gescom and radio mix isn't a proper release unless you think the interview is some kind of electronic music..

I am sure Gescom 1 was made by Darrel Fitton.

Radio mix contains an unreleased track.

While Gescom contribution is unknown, they had a lot to do with Keynell, SOMOPU, Motor, Keynell Remixes, and MiniDisc, and This and That as well.

Still is a lot of material even if you don't count gescom releases. Are you at all familiar with the music industry? Are you a musician? This is a VERY large amount of material. Especially considering how involved and perfected most of AE's tracks are.

They also toured and produced exclusive material for live gigs.

do you mean the latest track in the mix?

yeah, that's a crazy amount of excellent stuff

Their livesets between 1993/1997 have been something amazing, I hope someday will appear soundboard recordings of these shows, like that live at oscillate.

At the risk of sounding like a mindless sycophant, Blyz Castl is fucking great. Sounds like Ae having a bit of fun, without taking the piss in any way.

I wish they'd release more tracks like Blyz Castl, I also quite like Coenc3. It's not that I dislike Quaristice or most of their other recent tracks, but I guess I prefer the ones with a more conventional and somewhat concrete structure after all.

Blyz sounds like AUtechre doing a remix of Depeche Mode 1995

I really miss the Untilted, Confield, LP5 etc era Autechre....I dont dislike the Quaristice release but I am worried that they are getting lazy and are going to end up not sounding as unique as they have, they are like no other artist on the planet! I love AFX but he is no where near Autechre in the "think outside the box" music writing.....so tracks like Blyz are a real let down....although still good .

in so far as Aphex not thinking out of the box as hardcore as autechre that is probably true, but honestly i never thought it be sitting here more impressed overall by Rushup Edge & Confederation Trough than the current Autechre LP (which i clearly am :undecided:) .

I can understand why one would prefer the sound of LP5-Untilted to Quaristice, but they played that sound for almost a decade. I think it's at the very least admirable to see artists refusing to rest on a formula 20+ years into their career.

I don't know what you people are talking about. Except for maybe LP5 and EP7, each record has an extremely different sound to me.

Anyone have the full release (all 3 tracks)? I've only been able to find blyz on slsk and 90210 via this thread.

Also, anyone have these in the original format (128k itunes aac, no drm)? The mp3s I've heard are decent quality but they're inherently transcodes.

In my opinion, only Confield and Gantz Graf sound quite similar. The rest is too different, even LP5 and EP7.

I think LP5 and Cichli Suite are similar in a way, Rae and Yeesland sound a bit alike, but Rae's much more awesome.

also got a nice ae shirt at the show: light blue quaristice colour with japoanese tracklist on the front, 2 squares on the back. they were giving away stickers too.

could you take some pics to that shirt?

somebody share the exclusive tracks
