According to Norman Records page about the release (I'm guessing this is the press release):

"Blackpool based artist VHS Head began making music in 1999. Usingvideo tape as the primary sound source and 80's B movies as hisinspiration. The music is a collage of vocals, stuttering guitars anddrum hits taken from a vast amount of ex-rental videos teleporting thelistener back to the golden era of the VHS format.

This budget-priced mini-album is packaged in in limited edition black jewel case, containing a video club membership card."

I'd bet that he's sampling heavily from Demons, one of the most 80s movies I've seen. It also has an awesome cheesy 80s soundtrack.... worth checking out if you haven't seen it.

yeah, I got the jackson/french type vibe too, but I don't know if the tracks in that style are as good as actual jackson/french tracks etc. The tracks that are less in that vein seem to be my favorite.

some of this stuff really reminds me of the latest gescom. which makes sense. Especially B1 with all those voices.
