Mel Gibson

After being entertained to the point of soiling myself everytime i watch the dam thing, the South Park episode featuring Mel Gibson as zany film director is a classic. I walked around thinking he was a total loon. And he is. But in the good way.

Even back in the good old mullet days of Lethal Weapon 1, there was that cunning glint of sweet insanity in his eyes. Back then of course it went virtually unnoticed, camouflaged beneath his dazzling eyes and boyish charms. But it's been scuttering around in Mr. Gibson for probably all his awesome life.

This interview is tampered with of course. But it portrays a troubled genius, who loves trouble! In all his zanyness he comes of as being incredibly emotional and not holding anything back.

(go ahead and search on there's more good ones)

If only more Hollywood actors were this upfront about their nervyness and drinking. His only mistake was making Braveheart.

Come on look at him at him right. People say that Mel Gibson was the wrong actor to be chosen for Braveheart, to portray a Scottish fighter. Well look at him now, an alcholic racist.

"Gibson is fond of drawing caricatures and hiring high school marching bands to pay tribute to his co-workers."

"While filming Conspiracy Theory, he and co-star Julia Roberts played a series of pranks on each other, beginning with Gibson welcoming Roberts to the set with a gift-wrapped freeze-dried rat."

Funny guy. Maybe The Passion of Christmas was just a joke . . .

He is a visionary director. I have said this to people on many occassions. I think he will do so many great films in the future. Plus his production company "Imagine" gives him creative freedom and lets him make films in any language without having to worry about box office, even though he did big box office with both his films. Now go and listen to the directors commentary on Apacalypto.

I agree he's an extraordinarily talented director, but I'm not so sure he'll do many great films in the future. Seems like he's unraveling year by year, and probably an alcoholic. In the recent photos I've seen he looks pretty out to lunch. That said, I'm curious about the director's commentary you mention.

According to a Danish article, Mel Gibson and his posse raged against a Danish beer company calling one of their speciality beers 'Braveheart'. And have since won the court case.

This brings Gibson down a notch in my book. I mean come on, Gibson himself is a big fan of beer. He should have just deemed it 'cool' and ordered a batch so he could slug some back.

he's also batfuck insane with his catholicism

i find his sect of catholicism to make more sense than vatican 2 mainstream catholicism or protestantism. Most religious people i would classify as 'batfuck' insane.

do you work for the ADL? fuck off

i like 2 mel gibson films and have some understanding of pre Vatican 2 catholicism. my best friend in high school was an alter boy (who was just discovering his sexuality at the time heh) in the society of saint pious X, a similar sect that mel gibson and his father are part of.

edit: does disbelieving the official story of 9/11 equate to anti semetism for you? if so please explain yourself.
