Lets make a thread about, in your opinion, what is the best, or the top 5 best electronic (idm/ambient/trip hop/trance, etc) albums of all time? I can't think right now so I'm going to sleep, but I thought it would be interesting to see people's choices, and this way gives others a chance to get into some really good albums.

So let the listing begin!!

Off the top of my head.....

Selected Ambient Works 1

Richard D James album

Trans Europe Express

Amber

LP5

Selected Ambient Works 2 is a number one spot, but I respect it more than I love it. If you get my drift.

And Venus 17 and Come to Daddy are great eps.

Pretty much impossible, but off the top of my head the ones that have had the most impact on me are:

Amber

Big Loada

Analord series

Music for the Jilted Generation

Surfing on Sine Waves

I tried to have only 1 rdj album in there and I just couldn't do it.

I like your list a lot. Too much IDM though, needs to be mixed up a bit.

all my favorite electronic albums have quite a few skip over weak irrelevant tracks in my opinion except for a few that don't quite reach the level of my favorite tracks on some records... I will just say my top 10 best of the best songs that I can think of at the moment I guess

Bonobo - Ketto

Amon Tobin - Big Furry Head

Portishead - Humming

Boards Of Canada - Dayvan Cowboy

Aphex Twin - Nannou 2

o9 - Terminal Red

Aphex Twin - Vordhosbn

Squarepusher - U F O 's Over Leytonstone

Death In Vegas - Dirge (Live)

Squarepusher - My Sound

Amon Tobin - Permutation

Autechre - LP5

AGGG... Massive Attack - Mezzanine (because I couldn't leave that one out)
