Program magically remixes any song with a swingin' new beat...

The Swinger is a bit of python code that takes any song and makes it swing. It does this be taking each beat and time-stretching the first half of each beat while time-shrinking the second half. It has quite a magical effect.

someone run an autechre track through this.

Is there a download somewhere? Not finding anything. The creators website even has something that supposedly can produce new music just by analyzing your mp3 collection? But no downloads anywhere :(

Lemme rephrase that: is it even possible to obtain this if you don't know a thing about compiling source code? :P

yeh echonest is pretty interesting!

the timbre information you get from the sound grains is cool. i've dabbled around with it myself a little, though didn't come up with anything grande. here is it anyways:

Music Hack Day is also neat, i attended the Berlin one last year. Met nice people/got to play around with unreleased stuff from NI among others etc, and started making this:

Do Emotinium?

worked surprisingly well! :D

afromb.py with gantz graf and emotinium iii. takes the beat information that echonest finds and renders it using the beat information from another song. interesting result.

also i can't really take credit. i'm just messing around with examples here. give me a few weeks/months and i might have something interesting, though. this is a helluva learning experience.

If anyone remembers the songsmithed Qur'an reading I posted ages ago, disparaissant is responsible for that. Still got any of that audio you could swing?
