She was living out of a hotel for 3 months while training for some work stuff. It worked well because I was too busy to have a social life, and she was in a town where she knew no one. We talked for maybe a month through text and on-line and then started dating when she got back in town. It was my first experience doing the online thing, so I can't compare it to anything... The only thing that's weird is when people ask how we met (as someone else mentioned being worried about). Most people don't think twice about it (or at least don't say anything) when we say we met online, as I think it is becoming more of the norm and acceptable.
