OKStupid only ever seems to match me up with girls that are so damn similar that we end up just going out for a beer and swapping stories.

Not only that but pretty much all my friends in the real world whom I get along with but not really as romance material come up as my top matches.

maybe you are just hideously unattractive and you are seriously underestimating how amazing that hat is? Why not make a profile on behalf of the hat? You could then escort the hat on dates and pick up women that way.

fuckin hell . haha!

I met my current gf of just over a year online. I was working 2 jobs and going to school full time. She was living out of a hotel for 3 months while training for some work stuff. It worked well because I was too busy to have a social life, and she was in a town where she knew no one. We talked for maybe a month through text and on-line and then started dating when she got back in town. It was my first experience doing the online thing, so I can't compare it to anything...

The only thing that's weird is when people ask how we met (as someone else mentioned being worried about). Most people don't think twice about it (or at least don't say anything) when we say we met online, as I think it is becoming more of the norm and acceptable.

i've dated one girl i met on internets (not okcupid). it lasted about 9 months, but twiddlebot's comment is insightful - she might as well have been my twin. it was very volatile and intense, and as a result imploded after a while. but it was very good while it lasted (especially the sex, which was crazy crazy good).

the match system is interesting. but I think if I avoid republicans and people that could appear on the Springer show everyone else will fall into the 70% or greater range. One of the more useful things about okc would be finding someone that doesn't want kids. That's actually a real good reason cause its not something you like to admit in person to people. You feel like a kid hating curmudgeon

There's no shame nowadays of saying "we met online". I say easily 1 couple outta 3 here has been created that way.

not true. there's always an awkward pause and then an "...ah." after i tell someone that i met my partner online. it's crushing that meeting someone online is less socially acceptable than hooking up with someone at a party or something equally shallow (the "lol we just met and now he's my ~~*BOYFRIEND*~~!!" type thing is retarded.)

yeah... a mate once said regarding above relationship "she's really normal CONSIDERING YOU MET HER ONLINE". wasn't impressed

intimi-dating. there's something in it i know, but at 05:40 i can't think what.

i just signed up and i'm 90 something questions in watching faces go by on the left hand side, miles away, miles away, obvious 13 year old, miles away, a bit too good looking, miles away.

the questionnaires don't end until you say 'enough', trust me. they have like an infinite fucking supply of them.

as iain said, fucking blog it god damn it. And post pics. It's okay to post pics nowadays, facial search-engines don't really exist : she has no chance to find out about watmm or this topic/ unless you told her about it /

nah, he's right. posting pics is kind of bad form, i wouldn't do that. i don't really see the point in blogging my experiences either really, cause they're not that exciting... but there's something about marf's hard-bitten, cynical and slightly self-hating responses in this thread that i reckon would make for compelling reading.
