awww my parents always tried to keep me and my brother from watching ren&stimpy, so I´ve only seen a few episodes. After I have seen one here and then over the years, I´m going to have a look at those dvd-sets...

I'm so glad my parents never told me what to watch and what not to watch. I can't believe anyone would do that - especially when it comes to cartoons. When I was a kid I met two American kids whose mom wouldn't let them watch The Simpsons because she didn't like Homer. WTF?

I stopped watching Simpsons at some point when I was little, I saw the episode where you see homer's heart in a little split screen while he talks to and eventually gets fired by mister burns. And then his heart twists and turns and stuff and it looks like he dies. I didn't get the joke at all, I just liked homer cause he was always funny and therefore was horrified that they would make him die, so I ran to my dad and cried and didn't watch the show for a few years.

Representing one of those kids here. Yet I've been playing T rated games since I was three.

I actually started watching South Park before The Simpsons because my brother would wake up at night and sneak into the bonus room (it was attached to mine) to watch it at night when my parents were downstairs or asleep. I'd get up and watch with him.

page 3 and no one mentioned the Lost Episodes? if you haven't seen them, please do yourself a favor and look them up. it's everything John K. meant for the show to be, no holding back.

huge Ren & Stimpy fan, maybe the biggest. i've everything John K. has ever put out.

Unfortunately they're not funny at all and the voices are all wrong.

yeah, I asked for the dvd and my grandparents got me that instaed of the normal series. I was disappointed.

that immediately makes me lol

I didn't find the "Ren & Stimpy - Adult Party Cartoon"-things very funny either. but I find it remarkable how smoothly the women are drawn and how mangy the "men" look in all of John K's stuff. What are the lost episodes about? Are they the same thing?

I've seen one where Ren goes to see a therapist (it was Mr.Horse I believe) and then tells him about his childhood and how he did all sorts of sadistic things ... but it wasn't very good. I hope that's not it?

there are six episodes, that one is called "Ren Seeks Help".

i'm surprised nobody seems to have enjoyed them, i think they are one of the top 10 funniest things i've ever seen. could be a case of right place/right time for me, but i can also see how devoted Ren & Stimpy fans might not be 100% on them because they are going into it with expectations. the Lost Episodes are different, and should just be viewed with an open mind, a clean slate and a tightly rolled joint.

What I didn't like about the one I saw was that it was less abstract than the regular episodes. Usually the violence in Ren & Stimpy is so odd and twisted, in that one it was just straight forward brutal. Less funny imo. I liked how Ren got misshaped though:

But a big part of the normal episodes' hilarity is that they were actually watched by children. The ones I did see as a kid fucked me up anyways, and the other ones I can always imagine how many lives got ruined by. :whistling:

Jeesus Christ the baboon ... ! It's so vile, I didn't see this one back then I think. Whenever someone mentions hog jowls, I am reminded of the dude who got banned from a forum I used to visit and then went all psycho on the other users and made this video:

yeah i grew up watching LOTS of ren and stimpy too, like most of us.

it's weird to think that it was such a popular kid's show back then. Rocco's modern life too.

children's television now is so sugar-coated and weak..
